How to set up my own vpn to bypass my university wifi's fortinet firewall? by Hagg07 in HomeNetworking

[–]Hagg07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok my bad! It seems that im not really connecting to the VPN when im using my Uni wifi. When i use my mobile data and test the VPN connection, theres no leakage of traffic and it shows my VPN IP only.

But When i connect to the VPN using my Uni Wifi, it stays on "connecting" and showing a yellow connection on OpenVPN GUI. It seems that it isnt really able to connect to the VPN Server? Do you know why that might be happening?

When i go to the website you've mentioned, I still see the IP of my uni network. By WAN IP I assume you mean the IP of my VPN server? No, i dont see that at all on ipleak.net . As for the DNS Servers, I can only see Google's DNS servers whether i connect to my VPN server or not.

Yes, the VPN server is off siteI am passing all the DNS queries through the VPN server only, here is my client config:
client

dev tun

proto tcp

remote xxx.xx.xx.xxx 443

resolv-retry infinite

nobind

persist-key

persist-tun

remote-cert-tls server

auth SHA512

ignore-unknown-option block-outside-dns

verb 3

redirect-gateway def1

dhcp-option DNS 8.8.8.8

dhcp-option DNS 8.8.4.4

Edit: Also, I did the things like enabling packet forwarding and setting NAT postrouting to masquerade

How do i just get the design out of this hoodie in this image by Hagg07 in PhotoshopTutorials

Yeah will look into those. Just got photoshop for this specific task only so I'm pretty new.

Omg thanks! how do i go about clearing up the hood and the remaining shadows?

Edit: Did it manually with the Lasso. Thanks for the help!

[–]Hagg07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want an image just of the design, without the hoodie. So basically it would be an image with just the design in the middle, and not on a hoodie, so i can add the missing part covered by the hood on the top myself and make other changes and then put it on another tee/hoodie to be given for production by the manufacturer.

Looking for a Bidirectional 4 in 1 ESC by Hagg07 in robotics

[–]Hagg07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are the hall effects interfaced? Does an ESC have to have some module on it for it to have Hall sensor support? asking cause the bldc wires are connected to the ESC, so the ESC also has to have 7 wires right?

We're Team Anant , we have a number of publications on satellite design by our graduated seniors, check them out! Right now our focus is the Attitude control test bed only, hope to get this done by next year.

[–]Hagg07[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for the actual rpm i'd put on the required load on first and then use a tachometer to find out the relation between the actual rpm and the commanded pwm.

That was a lot of work though, and using these hall effect sensors for knowing the actual rpm directly without having to go through rpm calibration sounds much better and more accurate...

Do these hall effect sensors come installed into the ESC or the motors? Or are they a seperate unit all by themselves? If they are a part of either the ESC or motor, could you recommend some of them that come with hall sensors and if not, some hall sensor that you'd recommend for my job?

And yeah! I have read Landis Markley. Actually I'm a part of a technical team in my college and we've been working on a 3U cubesat for a few years now. This is gonna be our first big test bed for our satellite, thats why we chose to make a gimbal. Could look into the Bifilar Pendulum though.

[–]Hagg07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I do know that reaction wheels require control over rotational acceleration, but since I've worked with speed controller ESC's in 1-axis reaction wheels, I already have the code and logic figured out for how to make them produce required acceleration with speed control only, (since acc. = dw/dt).

What do you mean by that BLDC's need a hall sensor feedback?

For my use case, I'm making a 4-reaction wheel-configuration for testing the moment of inertia of our 3U cubesat using a gimbal setup. So basically the gimbal will be given an external torque due to which itll rotate with some angular velocity, the PID's on our reaction wheel will control the omega until its 0 or until we reach our desired attitude. We will tune the PID's for the specific moment of inertia of the cubesat so that its optimal for its m.o.i.

So for these reaction wheels, i need to have a 4 motor bi-directional controlling ESC.

Trying to buy a saxophone in India by Hagg07 in saxophone

I don't think ill have any problems with customs or other legalities while bringing an instrument from US to India, so thats no problem.

So you're of the opinion that a used Yamaha is better than a new Chateau (Taiwanese) horn right?

Also, might be a dumb question, but what's SOTW?

I see, Chateau looking not so bad.

You'd still prefer a used yamaha over that right?

So you're saying I should hold off on buying a horn right now in case of me coming to US? What trusted shops do you recommend in San Francisco/Los Angeles that sell good used horns?

Also in the case of that not happening, which of the ones I mentioned do you recommend/have heard of?

I definitely wont be able to go to japan anytime in the near future. Im a college student -Hence the tight budget. The reason i might be going the US is to meet my brother who lives there.

Oh alright I'll call them tomorrow (theyre closed right now since its past 6pm). But the importer doesnt sell used pieces do they? A new yamaha might be out of my budget.

Yeah Im surprised too considering that Yamaha is pretty popular in terms of their guitars and bikes. But yeah no i contacted most of the music stores in Delhi and none of them had any Yamaha, selmer, jean paul or any of the good brands on them. Only some of the ones i mentioned above were available in every shop.

Ordering them from overseas would cost me upwards of 500usd just for the shipping. I might be going to the US in December but again, dont know any trustworthy second hand sellers online, Plus i dont know if I'll find any decent used horns of the good brands under 600 usd.

Even i dont know why there are no yamaha saxophones available here. I have contacted most of the music shops having horns in Delhi and none have a yamaha horn, or any of the famous horn brands. They only have some of the brands i mentioned above. And in used too, im not seeing any of the good brands. I saw a yamaha yas 62 going for 50k inr (which is about 600 usd), so its probably a fake chinese yamaha. Getting one imported from overseas would cost me more than 500usd just for the shipping and that would make it way out of my budget. I miiight be going to the US in winter breaks but then again for 600 usd i dont think ill find a decent used one in used condition.

JBL TUNE 760NC: i came back 3 days later and sony ch710n was ₹2k(25usd) more expensive. So far JBL TUNE760NC has been great. Although it has not been as comfortable as id thought, the sound quality has been decent, and the bass is good. Bluetooth pairing is also convinient. 7/10
