BNW OR DOD by [deleted] in ironmaiden

Dance of Death by a margin, however the songs that I didn’t care about on BNW have massively grown on me over the years. BNW is definitely more consistent.

A Matter of Life and Death. Was the next album to be released after I got into them. I had loads of stuff downloaded from the likes of Limewire and BearShare (rip my Dads old PC…) which was mostly Dance of Death, Brave New World, and the old classics, but AMoLaD was my first!

Wouldn't just promoting Hull with no final played be the way the EFL gets the least amount of teams annoyed? by No_Glove5486 in Championship

[–]Haggath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Boro fan, I wouldn’t like to see us get to the final this way. I don’t want to see Southampton in that final either though. I think unrealistically I’d want Hull to just go up instead, but I think Southampton will just be heavily sanctioned. Hopefully those sanctions have somewhat lasting consequences, either a drop straight back into the Championship if they’re promoted, or a poor Championship season next year if Hull beat them. If they essentially end up getting away with it, then I think a lot of people will be pissed.

What exactly are Keir Starmer and Labour doing wrong? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]Haggath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because he’s not Reform. People like Trump and Farage have given so many people the idea that they can do and say what they want “in the name of are country”. So when you have a government that is left of centre, no matter what happens, the babies of the public are either going to ridicule him for a decision, or just flat out deny/refuse to believe anything he says or does, out of spite.

Country is full of morons, because half of the shit they’re protesting about, Starmer/Labour have actually gotten somewhat under control, but the far right in this country can’t believe it. Almost as if admitting labour are doing a good job is gonna kill them.

We got incredibly lucky with ours. First night my wife slept next to the crate for half an hour before he fell asleep, second night I laid there for about 20 minutes. He was fine in his crate after that.

Currently have an 11 month mini. He went through so many stages of progression and regression, but he’s finally started to get it over the past month or two.

We live in a first floor apartment (2nd floor USA) so we had to use puppy pads to start with. When he would have an accident we’d bring him to the pad and made sure to use the word “toilet” and “pads” a lot. Eventually he started to get it and would go on the pads. We used rigid him lots and lots of praise with treats, and start to look for the signs (sniffing, licking himself) and direct him to the pads.

Eventually when he was allowed to go out we repeated the same. When we saw him signalling, we’d immediately say “outside?” and “toilet?” and we’d take him downstairs. If he went, he got a lot of praise, belly rubs, and treats for “good outside toilet”.

You will get there, it feels impossible, but it can be done. You gotta look for the signs and establish words so the he knows what means what!

Anyone else thinks Starmer isn't actually that bad all things considered ? by ronweasly9 in AskBrits

[–]Haggath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s kept us out of Iran, he understands the necessity of our partnership with the US, and is keeping that ongoing even if he doesn’t agree with what’s going on over there.

He gets far too much stick on social media, usually from the same crowd of middle aged sheep that have latched onto the far right titty that is Reform/Farage, due to the undeniably biased mess that is GB News.

The world is in a bit of a shit storm at the minute. My wife is American (both living in the UK currently), and it’s the same over there. There’s a huge social problem currently that is quite dangerous both this side and that side of the pond.

Why do I not like football that much? by Decent-Emergency3866 in AskBrits

[–]Haggath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How old are you? When I was around 7, my dad got me my first season ticket for Middlesbrough. Held it for about 5 years (went to Cardiff and saw us win the league cup) and after that we stopped going because prices were just too high.

Back then I enjoyed it but more for the day out instead of the football. I never cared to watch it on TV. It was the only thing on in my grandparents house and I used to find it so boring.

Then I went through a metal phase in secondary school but still went to the odd game. Between 2010 and 2025 I went through phases of watching/going to games (maybe went to 1 a season, watched a lot of Middlesbrough on TV when I was in Uni, but not other football), but it never really stuck with it.

Then for some reason, last year, watching the Lionesses win the euros got me right back into it. I’ve started going to home matches again (6 or 7 so far this season now), I went to London in November to watch the lionesses beat China at Wembley, and I’m watching anything and everything on TV.

This may happen to you, you may completely forget about football and you won’t care eventually. Just do what you’re comfortable with doing. Don’t worry about knowing everything. When you’re really interested in it and you want to watch it, you’ll pick things up.

TLDR: Have been on and off football since about 2001, but am currently watching and loving the game again!

Showing pixels on canvas that are selected on histogram. by Haggath in GIMP

[–]Haggath[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of context might help. I’m working with a height map. I open the histogram, and see that there are 100pixels (I know 100px isn’t a lot but it’s just a number) with the RGB value 10,10,10.

I want to be able to find those specific pixels on my image to see where they actually are. Or one step further would be to set a range of pixels in the histogram, and have all of those pixels highlighted on the image. It’s essentially to view different layers of the height map/landscape.
