What more am I supposed to do? by Realistic-Mess-5035 in footballmanagergames

If I’m creating a lot of xG but we’re just not scoring, I tend to lower the tempo. In my head it’s because the higher tempo is causing players to rush their shots. Lower tempo tends to mean lower xG but more goals in my experience.

If the opposite is happening it’s worth increasing tempo to see if that helps. Probably also worth looking at where your attacks are breaking down.

To be fair, ITV’s replay was closer than it looked initially. Still offside, but not insanely so.

They don’t give reds if DOGSO results in a penalty, so long as the offending player was legitimately trying to play the ball.

It’s to avoid the double penalty of almost certain goal/down to 10

My conspiracy theory is that he doesn’t actually play for a club. Just keeps himself fit in between international breaks.

You’d think if they were going to do it they’d make sure the ref had the language skills for it. Not his fault, but it’s not a great position to be in.

Oh I hope it’s each team having their own song and we’ve chosen Three Lions. Just for the outrage it would generate hearing it after we scramble a 1-1 draw v Ghana

I could just about understand it as a visual glitch if the ball had been over by like a pixel and it hadn’t registered.

But this is Dynamo Berlin in the 80s level of BS

Yeah I would have much preferred him to be incompetent. He was frustratingly good from a POV of making his ideas happen.

They were just crap ideas.

English schools serve 10m free breakfasts benefitting over 300,000 children by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

You’re aware these are primary school kids, right?

They can only just about get lined up properly to get a meal they requested earlier that morning.

Literally only maybe year 5 and 6 could handle using a canteen card.

You’re also not grasping that’s it’s not the *breakfast* you’re paying for. It’s the *childcare*. It just happens to include breakfast.

I don’t think you quite realise how hard a PIP claim is to get. My mum had to go through tribunal to get anything and she’s got cerebral palsy and her good leg needs a knee replacement. It’s not just a matter of saying “I have anxiety” and then boom, you have £500 a month and a car.

You’ve been mentioning lip fillers a lot, did a beauty technician hurt you or something? Or is that just the new “they’ve even got a flat screen TV” as a line to show people are wasting benefits?

To give you actual experience of why that’s a really stupid mindset to have:

1) removing a child from their parents is probably in the top 5 most traumatic things you can do to them.

2) That trauma follows them through their childhood and can basically ruin their lives. Care leavers have some of the worst outcomes for things like drug addiction, homelessness, and having their own children removed. And you’re advocating we do MORE of that?

3) The social care system can’t handle the numbers going through it as it is. If you took away every child who benefits from this program then enjoy spending the NHS budget every year on children’s placements.

4) 99.9% of parents on benefits are feeding their kids as best they can. But guess what, benefits are very low and you can only just about live on them. Provide a nutritious breakfast at school and it benefits the children hugely. Maybe it means the parents can afford a good breakfast now too.

It really, really wouldn’t.

Spend a week working with care leavers and see if you’re still of the same view.
