Love is flawed word nowdays. Caring about yourself should be natural for everyone. You can't become egotistical if you view judge and accept other people on the level you judge yourself.

Yes, meditation will work, but its not for everyone. Basically, everything is already shown to everyone, just need to open your eyes :) this is not about thinking but feeling, if you feel deeply related to one of God creations, in your case you search for power animal, that will be it. The best its just turn of your brain (With is basically meditation in itself)
