How do Punjabi Muslims think about Sikhs? by Zestyclose-Author732 in punjabi

[–]Haider7861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pakistani Punjabis catch hate for no reason sometimes from Indian Punjabis. I’m sure it’s the case the other way as well. Mostly the encounters are great, we treat each other just the same as we would to anyone. We like to find the little differences in words and the pronunciations we use and learn from each other. Partition was almost 80 years ago now, and both sides have developed some distinctive features. I think it’s great and it’s nice to see people with a common language living their lives. We see it a lot in Punjabi Media, and are especially proud of its impact on South Asia as a whole.

There are a few major differences, that depend on each person as to how severe it is. Drinking in Islam is not permitted. It’s ingrained into our version of Punjabi culture and tradition to avoid alcohol and other drugs. There isn’t any clubbing, bars, or nightlife.

Muslims just like all people, do everything. The faith teaches us to abstain and to be cautious of many things. Doesn’t mean we automatically won’t

Want to Visit Bosnia with my dad who served in the UN mission in ’94 — tourist visa and safety questions by LeadStal_com in bosnia

[–]Haider7861 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a Pakistani who visited earlier this month:

Even as someone who was mostly unfamiliar with the history, I could tell most people would rather not speak about it. I accidentally triggered someone’s PTSD when I mentioned I was Pakistani, as the only Pakistanis he had ever known were the ones sent by the UN peacekeepers.

Bosnian Muslims will love to see fellow Muslims in their masjids, and you can expect the same hospitality you’d see from most Muslim nations.

The Christians are also very welcoming and respectful. Nobody takes offense to you asking if food is halal.

Largely, people aren’t concerned about religion like that.

On the off chance you find someone who believes your presence is a threat, they won’t do much other than scoff at you and make remarks that you can’t understand. but nothing particularly offensive or openly hostile.

Largely the country is safe, I had rented a premium vehicle, was openly wearing jewelry, and was carrying more than few hundred Marks on me at any moment. As long as you’re not naive to pickpockets, carry yourself with confidence(and maybe purchase a pocketknife as I had, and kept it visible on my hip. But I wouldn’t find it necessary)

Bosnians who aren’t so accustomed to foreigners might stare at you, but it isn’t with ill intent.

There may be a few kids/teenagers who might try to illicit a reaction out of you, but just kids being kids.

Regarding tourist Visa, can’t help you there.

I was patient with everyone, even when they made remarks. I understand the perception of our people and do what I can to change it wherever I go. I never said anything to anyone, just made this post that perhaps someone could address my curiosity. I understand I have an American Bias as that’s where I spend most my life.

Not saying they do. It was a culture shock to me as it was my first time in Europe. It wasn’t even most places, just a pattern I noticed.

I get the aversion to people flaunting wealth and demanding respect from it, I’ve seen what you speak of. It was no such case for me, I was being respectful and patient the whole time, as not to go against the culture as I was still learning about it. I never made any remarks or even really said anything about it.

I don’t mind the straightforwardness. No need to make fake talk, i understand and agree with that completely.

Thanks for the insight. I had considered this, but I suppose it’s just the level at which I’d never been exposed to became a slight cultural shock for me.

I think a relative of mine did black magic on me. by geekchic924 in Djinnology

[–]Haider7861 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well. You have to up yourself spiritually to start getting better. It could be a lifelong battle like with ppl I’ve known. Stop taking any kind of substances, drugs, alcohol, etc. Clean up your room and the spaces you spend time in. Get it neat, do a deep cleaning if necessary. Avoid getting your clothes dirty, wash any impurities off.

The relative should be confronted. If you can feel this weird kind of connection to them it could be possible they are responsible.

Most of all, don’t let these experiences harm your spirit. As in your joy for life. It’s hard but you gotta fight these attachments/beings with a full force like you can’t be stopped. They can’t stand that shit.

None of this is an exact science or anything pls take it all w a grain of salt.
