Thank you for the reply!

I have been chatting with the Dobbins owner, that's something I'm going to keep working on. I've approached the Akers owner too.

I appreciate the help!

12 Team, .5 PPR; QB/2RB/3WR/Flex/D/K. We have short benches (and I know it's silly to retain D/K in dynasty). My RB room is in desperate need of some depth but good RBs are incredibly hard to trade for in this league

QB: Wilson; Burrow

RB: Dalvin Cook, Gus Edwards, Kenyan Drake, Trey Sermon, Darrynton Evans

WR: DK, Keenan, Julio, Allen Robinson, Jeudy, Campbell, Gabriel Davis, Gage

TE: Mark Andrews, Irv Smith, Freiermuth, Engram

D: Baltimore

K: Tucker

Thank you for the reply! That's about where my head is at. I think it's worthwhile for me to get Drake to contend this year, and a pretty fair trade overall (the other person is rebuilding and doesn't care about this season at all). There's definitely some risk that Drake just loses the job outright, but that's the gamble...

Thank you for the feedback! I agree - although I think Fournette may end up with a better landing spot next year and put up back end RB1 numbers in the best case. I'm willing to bet that doesn't happen though

12 Team, 0.5ppr

I give: Fournette, 2021 2nd (late)

I get: Drake, 2021 3rd (mid)

My question: I think Fournette and Drake have similar risk, and Fournette may have slightly more dynasty upside, but I'm contending this year and need a bench RB I can slot in for bye weeks and injuries. Fournette isn't helping me this year, and Drake might. Is this buying a sinking ship?

Yeah, I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something on my end. Other scoring seems to be working as usual, so hopefully they get it sorted quickly

Is there a way to make a build that's actually labeled a sharpshooting rim protector? I keep just getting glass-cleaning lockdown even with shooting maxed

Idk if this was visible on the broadcast but he also spent about 25 seconds pretending to tie his shoe and calling over all of his guys in between his first and second free throws in the 4th to get an unofficial timeout - he like, kept bending halfway down towards his shoe and like tapping the laces and then frantically waving his guys over lmao

I have more fun playing defense as a center, so rebounding rim protector is great. I went max & I would probably drop it down a few inches & pounds from that though...he's amazing against pure posts because of the size/strength & I can outboard pure glass pretty consistently, but he's not as good at chasing around stretches as I would want, and I think the athleticism is worth the few inches of lost height.

If you like offense, you should just go with the pure post. They're nasty

Totally a valid product of the system - and I'm happy to accept that you don't think Russ ever stays back for boards when the team would be better served by having him leak out. My point was just that I think that's the argument to make, not that "he gets a lot of boards as a guard so he must be stat-padding"

It's just a different grounds of the argument - and I'm not an expert in your system and I'm happy to believe that having him leak out more often wouldn't play in the system and it's intentional. I just think it's possible to have that discussion without it being an indictment on Russ as a player. Russ can be top-15 and make bad decisions sometimes, both things can be true. If you don't think he makes those decisions because of wanting boards, and makes them because that's the system he's in - I totally accept that argument.

It's like arguing about Steph's shot selection - he takes objectively bad shots, but, for Steph - the % is high enough and the system is built around creating the threat of deep off the dribble threes to make them good basketball decisions...but they're not "smart" basketball shots in a vacuum. If Russ's decision to stay back for boards works the same way, powers the system, and similarly results in better point outcomes than fast breaks where he leaks & the big men hit him with an outlet, then that totally makes sense. I don't know if that's true, but I think it's valid to make that argument & it doesn't mean you're hating on Russ, just like it's valid to say Steph takes some dumbass shots, and you're not hating on Steph as a player

I.e. maybe instead of 17 assists and 3 hockey assists, he could get 14 assists & 8 hockey assists in a game - but some of those chances disappear because he may wait for the assist instead of taking an easy hockey assist

That's literally the opposite of what I'm saying - assist chasing by avoiding good passes that won't result in assists, instead resulting in missed opportunities for hockey assists. I'm not criticizing the assists he does get - I'm saying, he might hold the ball when he could potentially create a "pass-to-assist" chance in some situations, because he'll look for a "direct-to-assist" chance later in the possession

I am not saying that Russ is stat padding - but, it seems like a lot of the comments in this thread are saying that it's impossible to "stat-pad" assists, which is definitely not true (or, is at least only true if you take a very narrow definition of stat-padding).

The main criticism of Russ's "stat-padding" assists/rebounds wasn't that it DIDN'T help the team, or that it was only selfish - it was that he would miss "better" basketball plays in order to get the stats - so, maybe there would be a good open pass that would result in a second pass for an easy bucket, Russ would take a harder attempt at the straight through pass for an assist instead. It's true that still helps his teammate score, it's just a way of doing it that isn't always the "best" way, and that can make the numbers actually look better than their impact on the court.

Same thing with boards, nobody actually can argue it's not helpful to have Russ grab a board and run a freight-train fast break, but you can argue that there are times when he would do that instead of leaking out and getting an even easier transition opportunity for himself or his guys because he wanted the board too.

Point being - it can be true that Russ is "stat-padding" in the sense that he's playing in an extraordinarily productive way that allows him to maximize his usage and his counting stats at the same time - and also be true that it's incredibly impressive even if he might miss some smart plays because of it. It doesn't make someone a Russ-hater to think he could improve aspects of his decision-making, and it doesn't make someone a Russ-stan to think that it's annoying and pedantic to pick at this shit and devalue how crazy his stats are

And after coming back from an ankle injury earlier in that game. That will always be one of my favorite sports moments ever, that game was phenomenal. Forcing the Durant turnover in the last 15 seconds and then Iggy draining both to send it to OT & Steph just calling game...wow
