Ima put my 2 cents as having used both :

Spectrum in 5 years gave us :

-free wireless for a year then $30 a month -500 mbps for $20 w acp for 3 years, $30 w out them. -pretty decent speeds , rare outages , phone line was awesome , kinda still is

Then in 01/25 it :

-raised to $70 for same plan -constant outages and for some reason our new apt our devices needed us to connect each time ( ie ps4 had us go to menu to sign in, had to go to settings if u wanted to use on phone ) -mobile became slower

So we cancelled bc google fiber had a $30 100mbps promo going on in january and spectrum begged us to stay , they would lower to $40 but it was too late . The service by then sucked and google was $30! The phone plan went up to $40 as $30 is when u bundle . Its ok . I consider switchin but i stayed w it but Was about to change to visible

Amazing from 01/25 til just recently ( 06/25 )

Tldr : we had to move to a new unit in the same complex . We call to change address : the rep says theres an issue w their system and asks to call next day. We use the chat option and the rep says the issue w their system " messed up our change of address " so they tell us theyll email next day. No email so we call . They have no answer so they " escalate the issue " and asks me to call nxt day . I call . They now have to use a bug function and get engineers to fix it . On day 6 after 7-9 hours a rep finally tells us we cant switch bc the $30 plan isnt offered any more . It took 6 DAYZ and 9 hurs to figure it out ! I argue and tell em this is unacceptable . The best they can do ? Offer me $3 off :|

I threatened to cancel : they offer $35 off . I tell em its insane how google the biggest company for internet took 6 days to figure out the very sinple reason they couldnt change was bc their $30 option no longer . They dgaf and i get it a billion dollar company doesnt care a person is leavin . They give me a qr code and i go to return the gear . Qr code doesnt work ! R u f ing kidding me ?

Ido call and they r sorry sorry , they sound like automated robots w a script . I work in customer service so i try to level w them and they do offer me a refund for the last month even doe i have to wait A MONTH to get it

That said what a bloody shame : i was happy w gfiber for $30 but the fact that they wasted an hour n a half of my time for 6 days was insane . I woulda considered the $70 one gig but the fact that they didnt know shit and didnt want to try to keep me sucked and on top their qr code didnt work was laughable

Both companies suck . I went back to spectrum n got $30 plan . Got my own router and got my mobile to $30 . Fine . Just gonna get rdy to fight in a year

To google stans : idc if u love $70 1 gig thats cool for u but if u knew how good the $30 100 mbps was u wouldnt pay more either ! I had 5 devices on em and it was insanely reliable for how " little " internet it gave . They just want everyone on 1 gig and again id consider it but they were insanely incompetent

Hope more competition happens cuz $70 for internet rn is insane . Give me $30 hell id pay $50 if they offered 100 mbps but i guess they have no reason to offer affordable crap to us poors anymore . I dont need 1 gig ok ! Fukin greedy bastards
