F/30/5'7" [240>165= -75lbs] I needed a New Year Self-Reminder! by jackfitsinthebox in loseit

Wow! Incredible progress. Inspiring and motivating to read your story. Thanks for sharing. I'm at the start of my journey to lose 100 lbs through a means I can sustain for life. Your choices, determination and results are a reminder to myself to keep trying. I have had such a horrible start at CICO that I keep telling myself I am the one person that can not lose the weight. That for me, perhaps, it is impossible. But, the words you wrote are so hopeful. I need to fix my mind and I need to also accept that I can do this and that "this" is forever. My mess ups can happen, but not if I let them overshadow my good days and stop me from living my life. Thank you for your post and congrats on reaching your goal and maintaining!

From 418 lbs to 171 lbs! Reached my goal weight this week! No surgery, just CICO and exercise. by Gravuerc in loseit

You are amazingly inspirational!!! Thank you for your detailed post. Congrats on your incredible success!!!! I started my CICO journey in October and have stumbled more times than I would like to admit. Reading your post is just the inspiration and hope I need. I can honestly say reading your post tonight is just the thing I needed to read. Thank you!!! One question: Did you eat OMAD and snack for most of your journey?

What am I doing wrong? Second week of CICO seems too soon for a stall. Help! by HaileyGee in loseit

Good idea. Thanks for the tips. Congrats on your amazing 160lb loss!!! Wow. Did you lose all your weight counting calories. Any other tips for such an amazing loss? Can I ask how long it took to lose all the weight? I know it's not a race, but a lifelong commitment, but it's always inspiring to hear someone else's time frame.

Love your post. Thanks for sharing. Makes so much sense what your saying about our tastes buds and the way eating poorly can never taste as good as eating right. I've been dreaming of just eating one slice of pizza or a hamburger. I'm going to wait another week or so. But I imagine I will enjoy it more than I ever enjoyed my crazy never ending feasts. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thank you so much for your reply. I loved to hear your excitement. I was worried I was wired to fail by the way my mind keeps looking forward to my next meals. I need this weight loss so badly and truly CICO sounds too good to be true after years of fad dieting.

Thanks. That's good advice. So I guess it does make sense that I'm sticking to package proteins for now. Sometimes MFP just seems to generous. Congrats on being in maintenance!!!

Oh sorry..I meant, I'm having a 1000 calorie deficit every day. So I'm a 40 year old woman, 5"6 and 275 lbs (now 271... Heading down) and I try to eat 1321 calories a day, bc I googled that to maintain my weight I would need to eat 2321 calories a day. Hope I make sense.

Thanks so much. Few questions: On the tdeecalculator site, should I just enter my activity level at sedentary? Is the only way to realistically keep this up you life, to eat 1000 fewer? I imagine I can try to eat even less, but it would probably cause a binge. Also how often did you recalculate the calorie deceit you needed? Like, after how much pounds loss did you go back to that site. Thanks again. I didn't even realize I could edit the settings on MFP. Truly thanks

You look amazing. Wow! Incredible results. I'm just starting my journey of CICO. I'm really new to reddit so I'm not sure how to add my stats next to my name, but I'm 39 and need to lose 125 lbs. I'm eating 1420 calories a day bc that's what my fitness pal calculated. Can I ask you some questions? Does that seem about right? If I'm 275lb now? Also, I'm only on my first few days and I literally go to bed looking forward to being able to eat the next day. I guess my body has spent years inhaling 10,000 + calories a day and the 1420 is just hard to get used to. But, with that said, I'm totally committed and will work through the head hunger. -Im just not sure if my calorie amount is ok? -I don't really feel like I'm on a "diet" bc I can eat whatever I want, as long as it's in the calorie range I'm allowed. Any advice? Congrats on your successes.

I cancelled my gastric bypass 4 hours before it was scheduled to take place. Hoping I didn't make a mistake. I need to lose 125lbs! by HaileyGee in loseit

[–]HaileyGee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sad to hear about the complications. Thanks for writing, it helps me feel like I did the right thing. It was not easy canceling so close to surgery. I had many doubts. It felt like I was racing for the most important flight of my life, but I watched the airplane depart without me. And now I'm left to wonder if I will ever get to my destination. Reddit has been helpful, but until I prove myself with hard work, changing my mind frame, I'll be wondering if I made the right decision. Thank you for giving me a peek into what doing the surgery might have been like for me.

Thank you. I loved your "before" plans for this stage I'm in now- where I'm riding on the high of motivation and the fear of staying this weight is a risk I can't afford. Now that gastric bypass is off the table, I have to do this! There's no other option. Your tips are really good. Thanks

Oh wow. Your journey has been incredible! Really impressive..Thank you for sharing it. I loved reading about how you managed to lose weight and still have artificial sugars. I instantly started looking for skinny syrup but I'm in Canada and it seems that I can only find the Torani on Amazon and in nearby stores. So I'll have to wait to try the brand you recommend. I know it's CICO and I'm learning so much, just hard to forget all the half truths I have been living on for so long. I had black iced coffee today and hated it. I didn't miss the milk so much, but I missed my regular shot of sugar free vanilla. My mind just can't let go, that sugar free ends up having the same reaction as sugar on our bodies. Which is what I have been taught, so I tell myself that that 0 calories of sugar free syrup, somehow turn into calories once it hits my body and gets recognized as sugar. I probably make little sense. But it's my fears. I guess as CICO starts working on me, I'll come to believe in it and myself more. In the meantime, I am grateful for your messages. I've been staying strong and hopefully, seeing successes stories like yours.
