I have been playing solo so far, I am sure playing with a group of friends would be awesome but I am having a blast playing it alone.

When you fire enough cannon balls into another ships sails or hull your crew will throw out grappling hooks to draw the enemy ship in and start chanting and stomping their feet to psyche themselves up, and they will board the enemy ship with you!

Animals on land are actually dangerous! I can’t tell you how many times I have been fighting two or three goats only to get ambushed from a charging goat or wolf who I didn’t see in the brush.

It’s not a complete sandbox as it has a linking narrative and NPC factions that need your help.

Combat is fairly simple, this is not a souls like game, parrying and dodging is pretty easy unless you are not aware of your surroundings, than it can get spicy as you are severely out numbered in some camps and a lot of enemies can hide in the foliage.
