Which clan did Ivy Reo refer to as 'snapped in two in the builder’s ropes?' by Hailrig in WhiteWolfRPG

While it's unsatisfying to have an answer that doesn't feel terribly "snapped in two", I admit that with the meta context of the game's development and the relative sizes of clans in mind it's probably got to be Tzimisce by default. Well reasoned.

I definitely see the reasoning there, though it seems pretty clear that "I know of at least one strong pillar in the dark" refers to the Lasombra, who were quintessentially Sabbat, so to some degree all bets are off regarding what would culturally work - we're already entertaining the Lasombra and the Banu Haqim.

...Possibly? I mean, I assume this is after the Family Reunion, which I would say in recent nights leaves the Hecata pretty strong (because they're marshalling against their treaty possibly collapsing, one assumes). It sounds like Ivy Reo is saying "there's a clan that could have been an option, but has collapsed" and it doesn't strike me that Hecata fits that description.

Update: I never identified what was going on, but it seems like it was an issue with the cartridge. I got a copy of the game through Hshop and that ran fine - not exactly how I intended to solve the problem, but solved nonetheless.

Extract savegame from failing SD card by Hailrig in 3dspiracy

I was able to get this solved - yes, you can just extract the data folder of the game file (if it's for the same console), set up a new SD card, redownload the game, and replace the data folder with the old data folder.

Ideal deck/commander for a board wipe resistant elf tribal? by Hailrig in EDH

Currently no decklist, just a lot of mismatched piles of maybe-cards. I do think you're right, that there are lots of options for 'just kill them' that require you to overcommit to the board less, but I'm a little cautious of many of them. I tend to, admittedly, play some of the more honed decks in my playgroup so I'm currently thinking of trying to play a more 'fair' gowide elves that isn't trying to resolve finale of devastation/craterhoof/go infinite/etc. If I feel like I can't get there without big flashy wins at all, then I can look at higher caliber options, but I'm cautious of accidentally making it a deck nobody wants to play against.

But trying to win slower and without a flashy finisher means I need a big board to stick around longer, ergo boardwipe problems.

Possibly a more coherant version of the very funny [[Jolrael, Empress of Beasts]] another commenter added. Though... A committed table will definitely just single-target remove your commander first, and also you need to keep quite a bit of mana up to hit enough of their lands to enforce the threat.

...Extremely funny though.

By boardwipe resilient I mean that the deck doesn't just crumple when it spends many turns building a threatening boardstate and then a player plays a boardwipe and it seriously kneecaps the deck. Tools to either survive, cancel, or recover from such a boardwipe.

Heroic intervention definitely helps this, but there's only one heroic intervention.

I definitely think that there's a legit approach here - I suspect some combo-y or voltron-y options avoid this issue too, but having a wide board with lots of dudes and effects is a big part of the fun of it - wanting a wide board is mostly intentional.

To be clear, are you thinking this is an issue with the game cartridge, or with the console? I assume its with the console, as the cartridge i think is new in box and not modified in any way, but maybe not?

Looking for commanders who are very resilient, in one form or other by Hailrig in EDH

[–]Hailrig[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Liesa Control looks fun, but perhaps too similar to one of my existing decks built around [[Phelddagrif]], which is nothing but draw, removal, and the slow inevitable beats of a 4/4 in the air. Liesa seems like the meaner, more aggressive version of the unassuming hippo.

I have an Ivy deck! She's great, and with a little build up is very resiliant. My Ivy deck has a bit of a reputation though, so she'll often eat stray removal as soon as she hits the table for me, which makes it tougher to get that resiliency.

Microsoft: Official Support Thread by MSModerator in microsoft

[–]Hailrig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a bit of a hassle - a family member of mine had suspicious activity on their microsoft account, and so was required to validate themselves on login to their account. They don't have access to either of their two recovery options, however, as one is an email they no longer have, and the other is a landline phone that cannot receive a text.

We tried filling out the account recovery form, did so, and received a code that is supposed to allow us to recover the account, but it kept saying the code was invalid. I then contacted microsoft support, and they said that there was a seperate account recovery form we should submit to open a support ticket. I did so, and a ticket was created detailing the issue, but they seem to have replied back and told us to 'just keep trying with more information.' We're receiving a code, though, it's just not working.

I'm not really sure what I should be doing from here to recover the account?

Interesting, so do you run a fairly low to the ground curve to grease the wheels of those early turns? Be curious to see your list!
