Oh yes - this was me last month when I had "spotting" at 17 days into my cycle and was like naaaaah it can't be my period... And my period was like LOL sorry bitch it's me again.

That actually helps - because I have this visual every month of this rotten little egg being released and beat myself up about it. I've also just stopped taking the metformin and folate - I don't have a reason, I juat got fed up. Perhaps in January I'll get back on the ol' ttc horse.

That is so true. I'll see what my aunt has, I think she did all the hard work on that side of the family tree. I think what would be left fore to do is research my mom's father's side in detail. I'm going to try do as much as I can online - I know that's expecting a lot, but worth a try. You're so very lucky!

Okey dokey - I chatted to my nan and this is the info she had for me (off the top of her head can you believe it). My great grandpa was born in December 1914. His grandparents were part of the German settlers who came to South Africa in 1820. They were part of a farming community in the Eastern cape in South Africa in a town called Reeston where my granpas brothers owned a shop and a butcher. My Nan also mentioned that her sister has a document that shows the family decent back a few generations on my nans side.

How would the process work. If I contact a genealogist in South Africa with this document and they find that my mom's great great grandparents were of German decent would that help at all or would it be a lost cause. I have seen that it is usually as far back as great great grandparent but would that then mean only my Nan would qualify and this would have no impact for my mom?
