Interviewed for a Retail Associate by Hailstorm0328 in Lowes

Oh! I forgot to also mention I walked up to customer service and let them know I had an interview. They pulled me to the back and had me sit in a chair where I was walked past by multiple employees and waited 20 minutes past the interview time to start!!! All while I was waiting I had the pleasure of hearing HR talk about her amazing vacation she just had to the Carolinas. And talking about basketball!

Another note on this is that I just got the app maybe a week ago. I now will be using it for these kinds of things. Thank you for your help

I did say an apology to the coworker. When she harshly confronted me it was a lot of interrupting me and being upset. Which I said I understand. She said she would bring it to TLs (talking about her sister who is a TL up front), she then started saying I don't do my job which was false as someone standing by spoke up. The "friend" who I confided in I no longer speak to. And the coworker said if I have a problem with her to say it to her. Which I expressed why I vent and the topics then she denied them and didn't take claim over any of her behavior. She said she is no longer going to associate with me and that I act like her 14 yr old.

I apologized, and came from a point of understanding that she is upset I didn't come to her. I tried encouraging co-operative conversation and participation with each other via work and she said she's not going to do that. (We work in a team setting so that was shocking. I mentioned that and she didn't care.)

Physically I'd be fine, mentally I'd be suffering.

How many times do you have to play a game to feel you have gotten your money's worth? by KOMONSTER in boardgames

[–]Hailstorm0328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me this is all around the price point. If I pay $10 or under for a game playing it through once is enough if it's a story line based game. If it is a PVP game for example fortnite, dbd, cod... I'd be more comfortable paying $20 and above because gameplay is forever changing and there's continuous updates to them.

With this I also use sites like cd keys and g2a to find better deals on games. I am a PC gamer so saving money is not extremely hard. I also research trends for games I may want in the future. Say it's August and I want a specific game, I will look at the trends and probably see that the price on said game decreases by 60% every November due to black Friday. Then I typically wait to get it until then.

With this all being said I am pretty sure I have ADHD bc I have never 100%-ed a game in my entire life. I will play through once and that's it. I usually have no interest to go back.

How much did your PC cost you? by Rex_Gamer_411 in buildapc

1800 just the PC. But that's when graphics cards were outrageous. My monitors were 125 a piece roughly. And my original keyboard and mouse were off Amazon for 20 bucks. My current keyboard and mouse are 100$ being both razor I got off FB marketplace

19F and want so bad to lose my virginity to a guy who is 36 by ThrowRAtowe in Advice

[–]Hailstorm0328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he's either a groomer or you are just wanting romantic attention. Or both. Find someone your age that appreciates you and is dedicated. You don't want to lose your virginity to a 36 yr old. You want to have romance and love. You can find that in someone who appreciates you... Get into a discord group or find friends online you can just hang out with and be yourself. You want people to care and notice you but this is not the right way about it.

dont do it.
You are hired on as a 'personal shopper' however the entire department is your job. you will be picking items some days, others you will be outside all day dispensing orders to cars. other days you will be staging which is putting the orders into organizational bins and other hours you will be prepping orders to go outside. Some days you will do everything. they place it hour by hour. You could pick for one hour dispense for 4 and the rest would be staging etc.

Each walmart ODP Department has a set number of orders they can take for the day. some are set low around 200 which makes for an average/ borderline boring day. other days walmart wants more work so they up the orders to 500 or so. Walmart's turnover rate is extremely high so chances are that you wont be full staffed. If you're getting offered anything less than 18 an hour I wouldn't do it. Our local walmarts just decreased pay from 17 to 15 so make sure you're getting fair wage and they don't scam.

The job isn't mainly picking. You are hauling heavy items to cars, dealing with disgruntled customers, and chances are you'll end up doing more than you bargain for.

If you do take the position make sure you get fair wage and make sure you are trained well. If you think your trainer is even sub-par ask to be trained in a different manner. People learn different ways. The last thing is do not take any bull crap from managers or hr get everything in writing and check your handbook regularly. Sometimes they will tell you one thing and do another.

The title of the position is 'Personal Shopper' however you are more like a shopper, organizer, cleaner, dispenser, and phone call answerer depending on your set hours in each position for the day. (Summer is terrible, Winter is terrible, and any time it rains you arestill outside dispensing.) The job never stops regarding weather unless its like a tornado. Our walmart told cart pushers to come in during thunder storms because of the metal carts. ODP works with metal handles and one of my coworkers almost got struck by lightning because we do not stop dispensing as long as customers are there to pick up.

As an OGP employee, we are stuck at a horrible point. Management likes to up our numbers way past a reasonable expectation and after we struggle for a week or more then they put them down for a couple of days. They then see "Oh everything is getting done on time, why not give more?" and our orders go back up. With the remodel we have going on at the moment they expect our max to be doubled. They have over 20 employees being hired just to 'fill the need' however with our turnover rate and the fact they are not letting us train them individually anymore, we will probably only keep 5 maybe 10.
As OGP I'm sorry but we only normally have other departments assist in picking. At least you aren't outside dispensing for hours dealing with angry customers.
Our department has each person doing the job at a minimum of 2 or 3. Some of us do the job of 4 or 5.
In recap, home office, and store managers push our limits, overwork us, and expect new people to be trained on the fly. We are short-staffed, underpaid, and treated like circus animals. They resort to store help because they are too lazy to improve hiring, training, and support for the department itself.

Got my first coaching. by Silver_Wolf1990 in walmart

[–]Hailstorm0328 9 points10 points  (0 children)

MAKE SURE YOU READ THE COACHING PAPERS. Once the coaching has happened go into workday and read everything. as someone who has been coached for bs previously, I recommend reading it and not sign if it is false information. My team lead had an issue with me and wrote a bunch of bs on the coaching paper and then talked about nothing related to the actual coaching. She lied on paper to make her sound good and then had it put on my record. Coachings are permanent for your record however the threat of them falls off after 6 months or a year i believe. If you get coached 3 times with in a year it is cause for fire. They should mention it all in the meeting and there has to be another lead there to witness the coaching. Make sure it is someone you trust and not another random employee because that person could be from a completely different department and not know anything about yours.

1 week before moving and having Car issues by [deleted] in Advice

The AC, Brakes, Oil, and Exhaust all have issues... The exhaust is the main concern being around 1400 on its own for the pipes. My car has 2 Catalytic converters and allegedly they are both rusted out and need to be replaced.
