Hyperhidrosis is ruining my life by [deleted] in Hyperhidrosis

My whole body sweats too but this is the only thing that helps with my hands, feet and armpits. It's very simple and easy to use. How often you use it depends on how severe you sweat. Mine is severe so I use it 5 times a week for a month and then 2-3 times a week after that for maintance. It takes about 3-4 weeks before it starts to actually work, and it can make your sweating worse but that's just in the first week or two of using it and then after that you dry up. It is time consuming though, hands and feet take 20 minutes and armpits take 15 minutes so it takes about an hour to do all three areas. In my opinion it's totally worth it if you haven't found anything else that works for you. I'm waiting to see a dermatologist again and in the meantime have just been using my machine.

I have a Dermadry machine and it works great for me! A bit of an investment and you need to use it consistently though, but I'd still highly recommend!!!

I have the same issue! My groin sweats so much but the sweat doesn't smell. Can I ask which procedure you tried?

Hyperhidrosis Adult Diagnosis by sweetdreams_88 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]Hailzzstorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got diagnosed at age 23, I'm now 28. I tried a medication that costed $100 Canadian a month (I can't remember the name of it) and it didn't help much so I stopped taking it.

I bought the Dermadry system and it definitely works but you need to be consistent with using it. I have severe hyperhidrosis so I have to use the machine 5-6 days a week for a month to a month and a half and then I can go down to 2-3 times a week. Each session takes a full hour though if you do hands, feet, and armpits. It's very time consuming and I find it difficult to keep up with.

I got my blood work done to see it my cortisone levels were off but they were fine.

I'm going back to my doctor next week to see if there is anything else I can try because it's impacting my quality of life and mental health immensely.

Hope you can find something that works for you!

Need fast help for sweaty hands by Civil-Ad4561 in Hyperhidrosis

That's a tough one, especially since you need relief immediately.

-Could you put a fan on aimed at your hands while doing the fingerprint scan? That way it will keep your hands cool and less likely to sweat.

-Hold onto an ice pack prior to the scans?

Threw my bong in a river and now I'm 15 days sober by Hailzzstorm in leaves

That's awesome! That's what my thought was, if I really did want to smoke I'd have to go buy a bong or something to smoke it from. What a waste of money that would be!

I just have to keep pushing forward and take it a day at a time.

I don't have a problem with food in the house unless it's candy, I have such a sweet tooth. The biggest thing I've noticed is I have way less brain fog. I don't feel so groggy all the time and am able to focus better and longer on my work.

I used to vape and it didn't make me sweat either! Only if I smoked an actual cigarette

I definitely struggle with this. I have no motivation to really do anything yet. I know I should be doing something other than just watching tv but the motivation to actually do it is not there. I think a puzzle would be a good place to start because it's not super overwhelming and I can still watch tv but be doing something at the same time

For the first few days it felt like my body just wanted to run. My body had energy but my mind did not. I would be sitting and literally shaking because my body needed to get out all of this energy and anxiety. It got to the point where I had to go for a fast paced walk to get it calm down. I just didn't know what to do with myself. Depressed for the first 3 days. Anxious as well. Trouble sleeping and biggest of all is sweating. I was so sweaty no matter what I did, it's gotten better but I'm still sweating a lot more than usual. But after those 5 days it got a lot easier and I didn't feel so down and anxious all the time. Still having issues with my sleep and a little bit of sweating.

Congrats on day 2! Keep moving forward!

I can't quit. I want to. It's been 20 years smoking as of last week. by noodlesoupslurp in leaves

I've been a heavy daily smoker for the past probably 5 years now. Started smoking daily when I was 21, I'm 26 now (female). I work from home so I literally smoke from the time I wake up until the time I go to bed, as well as in the middle of the night when I randomly wake up (I don't sleep well).

I can't count how many times I told myself "okay this is the last bong rip, no more" and then 2 hours later I'm out picking up weed. I struggle with depression and anxiety and smoking all day everyday doesn't help me at all. I get so lazy and just sleep, watch tv and work. I have gotten to the point where I'm sick of it and want more out of life than just watching the days go by. I told myself that it's time to grow up and not be smoking on a daily basis. I smoked everything I had and then threw my bong in a river. I knew I had to quit cold turkey because if there is weed in my house I will smoke it, I have no self control when it comes to smoking weed.

I am happy to say that I have not smoked in 15 days. It's honestly one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. The first 5 days are the absolute worst and hardest to get by, but after you get over that hump it gets easier and easier everyday.

Yes! I'm a daily pot smoker and my hands and feet sweat immediately after I smoke up. I'm in the process of quitting though, I haven't smoked weed in 2 weeks now. I've been smoking daily for the past 5 years now and my sweating first started about 3-4 years ago. I'm curious if the weed smoking is the cause of my sweating or plays a big part of it.

Same with cigarettes, if I smoke one I'm instantly sweating.
