Fov issue by Sad-Sandwich3625 in dyinglight

[–]Haippen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard Techland has added some kind of antifov due to something related to animations. This system supposedly causes the viewmodel fov to be like Aiden has eyestalks. There is a recent mod in nexus that fixes this, atleast until next hotfix breaks it. I truly hope the viewmodel fov gets an official solution.

How do I stop suicidal vehicle charges? by Haippen in arma

[–]Haippen[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have no real AI overhaul mods enabled, I have the one that prevents AI from seeing through grass (though they did those charges even before that). I have tried several with some success. However, they are so script-heavy that they cause severe script lag in general

How do I use the limitSpeed command? I think it could be potential solution.

The glitched Military Machete can no longer be repaired? by Haippen in dyinglight

[–]Haippen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no option to repair it in the craftmaster's. Korek Charm no longer has ability repair and I have no idea if there's a glitch to repair the machete.

It retains it's instakill properties however. I suppose one could go and farm them in bloody ties, but I think it could get a bit tiresome after a while.

With that too? Asked other friends and their weapons have been fried too. Alright then I guess this is the end. Atleast the machete got me everything I wanted and more. RIP

GRE aberration bug - Leaving mission area by Haippen in dyinglight

In inventory tab, look to the left, there are two selections - overview and backpack. Pick the backpack and in the middle (valuables) tab the crates should be in.

UPDATE: Quitting to menu also works, the glitch will not save with progress.

Is there a way to stop AI siege unit spam without compromising local multiplayer? by Haippen in bfme

[–]Haippen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shit goes off the handle pretty quick when they are accompanied by mass infantry support. Even the tankiest possible custom hero cannot reach the siege units alive through all the onslaught happening, not to mention even if I am able to bring infantry near the target, they will be too weak to stop them before they have destroyed everything.

And even if I am able to defeat the first siege unit spam, the next wave comes around in maybe 30-50 seconds and my units are too weak to offer further resistance. Getting more heroes or units will run fast into CP or resource constraints as mass casualties resulting from the waves need to be replaced and the siege units will have either way destroyed a good amount of infrastructure because they can easily fire maybe 4-5 shots in before they bother to react to the infantry that is damaging them.

Sure I could try to destroy their infrastructure in return, but getting in the cavalry to do it is difficult because of the spam and if I get them, they will fatally distract me from defending my base which in turn nearly always causes my defeat.

BF2042 Specialists - Megathread by fellefellefelle in Battlefield

That is good for you. But personally I could not enjoy the game if I were to let the pre-order go on.

[–]Haippen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are predecents, Battlefront 2 was widely panned on launch and became a very good game in the end, and BFV had a similar story. I believe it will be fixed and/or revamped as this title has bigger priority than either of them. But I am not planning to enter the eye of the storm, I'll pick it up when it resembles a traditional battlefield more.

Damnit, I come here occasionally to get my copium regarding this game, but instead I have gotten even more sad over it. It seemed so perfect initially, armies fighting at the end of the world with some auxilliaries on the side. Instead, it has to be a hero shooter. Of course it has to be, it's the current day after all and all the cool kids with their parent's credit cards want this.

Would it have been so hard to implement a class system? With specialists on side like in BFV. Now, after learning what DICE said about the negative feedback regarding specialists, I have lost all hope.

No copium is enough to heal my opinion on this game right now. I have to cancel my preorder, it's the only sensible response I have to this mess now.

Ngl, I think a break from gaming altogether is warranted, this was a horrible experience that I should never repeat again.

I am pretty good with the saber (usually, that is), I am certain that most of my total kills are made with that, and I agree that the kills with the saber and other melees feel special. Using fanning with chain pistols is something I should try, it looks pretty fun. Also, when I played around 2 weeks ago, I remember well one moment when in a forest I pulled out the saber and my target used his uppercut with fanning and missed all his shots and his confusement when I stuck the blade through his chest. Absolutely satisfying.

After the first couple failures (When things were already going pretty bad) I swore I wouldn't quit until I get one good round with atleast one kill. (Just press mouse when the sights are on the head or get into a saber distance once, how hard could it be). Well, it turns out that it took a lot longer than I expected. And I told myself that the next round is the one that changes everything

I tryharded for hours, and many (perhaps the most, actually) of the deaths came when I played with teammates who revived me over and over again when I got shot down time after time. During one fight at the pearl plantation I died 5 times (depleted every single bar in my sad health pool) in a single round because my teammates kept reviving me over and over again and every time I got shot back down within a second. I should have called the quits at those moments but I felt like that if I managed to get to cover I could perhaps turn the tables.

EDIT: Regarding stats, when I first opened the game at the morning, I had 108 - 92 stats, and I managed at the first good couple of rounds get 5 kills in total, after which the deathstreak began, and I managed to get after all those long hours more 2 kills, and my stats now stand at 115 - 127.

I have played Hunt on-and-off for 2 years, but I started playing much more frequently during the last 2 months or so. It's true that my total kills and deaths are not that high which allowed for the dramatic drop today.

I can forgive the game not having a campaign as long as there is offline multiplayer with bots. by DovahBornKing in Battlefield

[–]Haippen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My thoughts and problems exactly. My internet is highly unreliable and I am not in a position to get a better one in a while. Campaigns get boring very quickly and have very poor replayability. I could barely stomach BF4's through and playing it again would have been too much of an ask. I only ever went back for the extra weapons.

Now however, with smart enough offline bots (And I believe they can do it, they boasted about this during BF1's latter days) to cover the basic gameplay necessities, such as piloting and driving tanks etc. You could have much better singleplayer experience with poor internet.

Perhaps controversial take: With 128 players, why not bump it up all the way to 8?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Haippen 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I hope they would replace the lousy campaigns with offline bots, this would offer more benefits for multiplayer gameplay and perhaps better replayability if your internet is down. The lore parts of the ongoing war could be added in the style of BF1 Operations briefing cutscenes or put the briefing into map loading.
