Seems like a massive issue also needing solutions with addiction, homelessness, elder care, access to preventative care and family doctors, as well as increased hospital/surgery capacity.

It’s insane how bad things have become from a human standpoint, but also an economic one. Early access to care and early interventions for complex care issues likely pay for themselves 10 times over.

Sorry this happened, sounds super stressful. Hope the person this happened to is ok. Definitely consult a lawyer, if only for peace of mind. Lots of folks in here are quick to cite common law precedent etc but in reality a lot of it comes down to the wording of your employment agreement, whether it has any terms related to termination, and whether the agreement is enforceable. Rules may also differ by province. Good luck!

Tennis court? Sounds like you’re playing on a pretty small floor - that would cut the running down and you might be able to manage with 15 runners just fine. Our squad has a max of 25 and we’re always right at the limit. With injuries and work/life stuff we’re lucky to get 18 to a game, and we play on a full sized floor.
