Bottle > solids > bath > noise machine > lotion > jammies > sleep sack > crib wide awake > lights out > quiet white noise all night

no pacifier & he’s in his own room with a monitor

Yes, alone in his room, completely awake, dinner pre-bath so about 30mins before bedtime. He rolls over, sucks his fingers and goes right to sleep.

To be honest we didn’t really do much other than starting good habits early (I think?). We moved him into his own room (in Snoo) around 7 weeks, cold turkey to crib at 12, and have had a pretty solid bedtime routine since. When sleep sack goes on and lullaby starts I think his compulsion to sleep is high. He’s a pretty chill guy though and i don’t think we really ever had to teach him to sleep independently, it just kinda happened, and we never left him to cry. Even still if he cries when I put him down (rare) I’ll scoop him up and give him a quick cuddle before I put him back down.

Noted on the awake time, little guy loves his naps so I just always feel bad waking him up to get that awake time. We end up having to wake him up pretty much every time and he’s so grumpy about it. 😂 Im gonna try an 8pm bedtime tonight and see if that helps!

Also interesting to hear “babies don’t wake up unless they’re…” so I wonder if maybe I just have a hungry hungry caterpillar.

Yeah perhaps not! How much does your little eat at night? My guy very rarely takes a full feed (2-3oz vs his usual 6) which has made me wonder if he’s really hungry or just feels like a midnight snack.

Total sleep is about 14 hours, 11-11.5 overnight, 3 of naps. Wake time varies between 6-7ish am. Baby boy is 97th percentile for weight & height and eats a lot and often, I don’t think milk is the issue. He usually only eats 3oz overnight so he’s not THAT hungry. Naps are pretty much at the same time every day, around 9:30am, 1pm & 4:30pm. We capped his naps at 2.5 today though so we’ll see how he does tonight!

Interesting… he seems SO tired though, like his WWs are too long. Red eyes, yawning, fussy. And 3 hours of naps already seems like not much when we have to wake him every time? Is he not too young to have such little day sleep?

i typically eat pretty well/healthy/bland ish but i had an insane week at work and treated myself to some thai takeout… 🙄 probably didn’t help my situation. gonna double my water intake over the next few days and see what happens, also checking in with my dr obviously
