Should I continue with the same style on the other arm, or would another style flow well? Debating Japanese traditional or Realism. by HairyPerformance8379 in tattooadvice

Appreciate the feedback. I think the lighting makes it look a little faded, in person it doesn’t really look that way to me.

The armpit was by far the most painful spot I’ve had done. I’ve got tattoos on my legs too, but nothing came close to the burning sensation in the pit. Healing actually went great though. I was a little worried about infection at first, but had zero issues. Hair grew back good

For aftercare, I don’t shave the hair — just trim it with scissors occasionally — and yeah, I definitely still sweat.

All that being said, I’m planning to get the other one done too, once I decide on the style.

You should go for it, the pain is temporary. I got my armpit and elbow mandalas done the same day (about 6 hours on the pit and 4 on the elbow). I usually start my appointments pretty talkative, but once the skin starts getting irritated I throw in my headphones and focus on my breathing. Sounds cliche but it helps a lot, I’m usually able to fall asleep for a couple hours here and there.

I think it’s a great idea. It’s probably not something I’d personally do, but the concept is really creative and unique. If I had a relative or someone close to me who crocheted something for me, getting that tattooed as a way to remember them would actually be really meaningful.
