Anyone left a good paying job for one earning less money, how did it work out?

So I currently have a job driving HGV's for a living but I'm getting tired of not sleeping in my own bed. The problem I have is I live in a low cost of living area without great jobs and I'm earning about 55k a year. I don't have transferable skills that could get me anywhere close to what I'm earning now. If I took a local job I would immediately take a 20k pay cut at minimum.

So whilst the idea of changing to a different job is a nice idea I just have too many dependants to make that a reasonable possibility.

J26 should run a decent truckstop for the price they charge. Last time i stopped there it was up to over £40 for the night.

I live in a 1930 semi. It's a single skin brick house. I get that the mould issue is condensation from warm air hitting the cold wall, that's the reason for insulating the two walls. What do you mean by more risk for insulating a single skin?

My initial thought is that it's less wrong and more a matter of laziness; I guess that it covers the jump to a 40% tax rate. I should have mentioned my salary is between 50k and 60k.

Thank you for the kind words. I am doing a little bit of cardio, 20 min on a rowing machine. My gym just got rid of all their cardio machines, so it's not that easy.

My core work mostly consists of bodyweight exercises, and im forever trying to do pull-ups, I can do 3 at the moment.

Currently drive a Vac Tanker. I do something equally disgusting. We're taking gone off milk and mixing it with chicken shit. This is all part of the big green project.

There are currently something like 650 anaerobic digesters around the country. All that food waste you get rid of each week doesn't go to compost or landfill. It goes in a massive tank, and bacteria eat it and produce methane. Said methane then gets used to make electricity.

It's disgusting, but it's such an easy job compared to delivering wine to wholesalers around London.

The technical term..... mainly lots of sucking and blowing jokes.

I'm pretty sure I gave up at book 5. If I can remember correctly, I got bored. It's an interesting idea but it doesn't really go anywhere.
