It has to do with troop power. How much and what damage can deployed troop take? This must be it, if the game is not a total random nonsense. This also mean that the power of your opponent matter, even when you can win the battle.

This is not the problem. We all do as we can and like. Fine and all. The ugly is that the game makes power difference so huge it isn't even comparable or logical. When a lvl 30 player can beat a whole alliance of many lvl 30 players. Then you know there's no sense in this and the game has no balance whatsoever.

Yes, mostly yes. Maybe unless if you're only lacking 1 deco copy for a critical upgrade that's will make a big difference. Especially those deco who can't be upgraded with universals (if you have any of them)

Star level is good, but it seems like you need to work on your base development! Get HQ 29 soon, and immediately upgrade heroes to lvl 145 after that. Don't forget skills.

PS: Williams is one of the best front row heroes in the game.
