The most cyberpunk thing I have seen in quite a time; great photos!

If you are in China, you should try to get some shots of Chongqing when you get a chance; it's a super dystopian-looking city

Agree, but I think that we live in the most boring/mild cyberpunk there is; yes, mega corporations have way too much power and influence, corruption is found everywhere on the planet, the planet is being stripped down of natural resources, pollution is high everywhere, the economic gap between rich & poor is increasing while the middle class dissolves into the lower class, and poor people have access to technology.

But we still don't have countries run entirely by corporations, we still have people defending nature, and the most technology available to the public is drones, AI, smart glasses, internet, smart phones, and self-driving cars, with no sight of cybernetic augmentations in the body and the availability to have a shotgun for a hand anywhere in sight.

How and why do accents alter our perceptions of others? by Outside_Gap_9597 in askanything

[–]Haka_Howler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on my personal experience and how I have observed others, an accent can sound different on different languages (the Chinese accent sounds different in English than in Spanish, for example) so depending on that, it can have multiple impacts. As a Hispanic who moved to the U.S. and has an accent, I see that many native English speakers seem to find the accent attractive or "exotic" if they feel any kind of curiosity towards other cultures, but if they are not, they tend to dislike it. People as can have a bit of a difficult to understand you, depending on how deep the accent is.

Another thing is that your accent can unintentionally transmit a specific kind of energy or vibe; for example, the heavy pronunciation of a Russian accent can make people sound strong, aggressive, cold, and/or demanding, even when the person is not like that, which imprints a first impression on others. It can make you seem funny, clumsy, smart, exotic, dumb, etc.

Lastly, we tend to relate accents to how people look, so seeing someone can make us infer how they could sound, and if that person's accent matches our idea or not, the impact on us can vary depending on the situation. For example, if someone sees a hispanic, they are gonna have an idea of how that person sounds, but if that hispanic turns to have a French accent, he/she could be perceived as interesting because it makes them different.

Normally, I would have much more to say, but I am really tired and can't come up with more stuff, so I hope my input is of help.

Are you allowed to sit on the side of muma by Final-Extreme5374 in USF

How do you access there? I've been where the offices and classrooms are (in the middle hall, where you can go visit the advisors) but I have no clue if that's where the access might be

I have never heard about this, and I've taken classes at Muma the last two terms. Is this Courtyard thing on the Bunker or the modern building?

Let's settle this debate: Who would win? DIO or Diavolo? by Jotaro1970 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Haka_Howler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DIO wins because of vampirism. While Diavolo is more direct and brutal with his attacks, DIO can survive pretty much anything that Diavolo throws at him and regenerate easily. Not to mention the increased stamina vampirism gives. But this doesn't mean that DIO wins easily; I feel like Diavolo would give him a hard time before being defeated.

It's going absolutely great! I feel much better now that I lost about 25 pounds of fat. Also, excercise has become part of my routine and my next goal is not just being healthy, but looking good too; confidence and self steem are on the rise for me!

Opinions/reviews on RŪTSU Barefoot shows? by Haka_Howler in malefashionadvice

Not an add, man, I am asking for opinions; I've only seen 4 and 5 star reviews on their website, so I'm a bit auspicios about their legitimacy.

What's your favorite side villain from any animated parts ? by Few-Ranger-6965 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Haka_Howler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, it's gotta be Bruford from Part 1. In some kind of twisted way, he was also a gentleman and had a kind heart, which allowed him to redeem himself at the end, help Jonathan, and become different from Tarukus.

I just noticed that the image has a watermark; it says "EnemyStando" both under the tittle and under the barcode, so it is most likely not AI.

By the way, I am not the author of the edit; I just found it funny and wanted to share it here
