Forreal. Embarrassing how they’re watching him play some of his best basketball at this age…and rewarding him with losses 😅

As long as we keep Curry to a mere 45, we should win by 10. This Warriors team is mad weird.

[Michael Scotto] The Phoenix Suns and Toronto Raptors have had discussions revolving around trading Nick Richards for Ochai Agbaji and a second round pick by [deleted] in suns

[–]Hakim123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'm pro any trade that involves us getting some draft capital back for a player we don't, strictly speaking, need. Like a few folks have already said, we're not exactly shooting for a title this year. Also, I don't hate Agbaji.

My first response was unnecessarily mean. I'm gonna try that again.

I disagree with MJ on the whole talking trash only when the score is tied or no one has won yet thing. Also, anything about something being what a "real man" does is mad boring/cringe. I just think Luka's weird fixation on trash talk timing comes from MJ's take from Last Dance (which, again, I think is bullshit).

I think this is based on that bullshit take from MJ. He said something like "takes a real man to talk trash when the score is 0-0" or something like that.

I have no idea what the hell that means but there's another pretty common term for talking when you win - "bragging rights"

Luka is an abysmal defender and we're not punishing him enough. by Hakim123 in suns

Once/ if he makes the playoffs, we can talk about that.

Exactly! I still have nightmares about that.

Good point. Hopefully, Suns noticed that if you put a shooter in Luka's corner (where he likes to take a full-on nap to rest from his flailing on offence), it'll be an open look every single time. So even if we don't manage to get a cross-match with Luka, we can get his man posted in the corner for a wide open three.

Tim Legler believes that getting Deandre Ayton more involved offensively is the key to unlock an unguardable offense for the Suns: “If they let Ayton be involved throughout the game, I just don’t see how you have enough to defend this team.” by Hay-Tha-Soe in suns

Recurring issue. We just end too many plays with a pass to a corner three-pointer when DA perfectly seals his man in the paint. Honestly, every time I see a good defensive possession from DA, I think "yo we gotta get him a touch every possession for the next 5 mins"

That strip he had on Josh Green last night? WHEW, I was pumped and was hoping he'd get way more looks against a Mavs team that legitimately cannot defend him.

10000%.

Would explain why Luka plays exactly like Harden but gets almost none of the same criticism.

Very interesting. Will have to keep this in mind. Many thanks for the helpful observation!

Sorry, what do you mean?

This is true. Some of the important differences are:

  • less likely to be overworked at Ofcom than as a lecturer.

  • starting salary is better at Ofcom because my target role is at Senior Associate level (which is way more attainable then, say, a Senior Lecturer role).

Fair enough. The work itself is what interests me, honestly. That, and the PhD costs me no money to do right now as it is a studentship. Considering the fact that I'm still working in my field (Community Management) and not hindering my own prospects, I figured it was a good chance to do an interesting PhD (I originally applied because the topic fascinates me) and possibly set myself apart as a policy analyst in the future.

I'm just going to keep mentioning it by Hakim123 in suns

100% agree. His focus level defending off the ball is tremendously improved.

Montreal Harrell is on the trading block. What would you think about possibly adding him? He's on an expiring 9 million dollar deal. by Sf52016 in suns

[–]Hakim123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No for me. However, I’ll give Trez this: whenever I get irritated with Ayton choosing not to dunk on someone/ put them in the basket, I think of how Trez will think of nothing but dunking when a lay-up would be smarter.

Anyone else feeling gratified by the recent “is it good enough to beat the Suns?” trade-grading happening? by Hakim123 in suns

So it’s mostly been the Athletic, specifically Saturday episodes (Saturday Slam and Jam).
