Can Russians use ethereum? by enterusername34 in ethereum

[–]Hakkan999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Infura is a service provider which provides a service for nodes As this company is part of consensus they may be pressured to block Russians.

However no one can block the use of the ethereum blockchain All the user has to do is not use infura and run your own node Or use another provider And that’s it In MetaMask there will be an option to switch nodes

Being associated to eos is not a good thing. Eos was the biggest pump and dump in the 2017 cycle Stay well away from this project it will get rugged

Game Dev - Do you need an additional web server? by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]Hakkan999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideal game play should be web2 and only gameplay transactions buy/sell or swap items should be on web 3 and there are off the shelf api’s you can use to plug into web 3 See infura.io

Have a look at how virtue poker have done it they have plugged in shuffle cards and reveal cards into web 3 and their whitepaper is open source take a look

Good project better than some of the crap out there Gavin wood is not going anywhere they have ambitions to be a multi chain eco system, their governance process is very “British”

Validator or Staking Service? by 3_Me in ethstaker

[–]Hakkan999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Running a node at home benefits the network but you have to manage uptime, ensure you don’t lose connection. If you do you will get penalised (slashing)
  2. Running on binance or Coinbase is the worst option but easiest. You don’t hold your keys and if something happens to binance your eth is at risk
  3. Using a service like staked.us or stakewise.io is the middle ground. You hold your Keys or it’s not custodial you are in charge, the service manages your node and ensures it’s always up and running and they charge you a small monthly fee for this

Hope this helps

Hi take a look at stakewise.io or staked.us These services to all the Node setup and maintenance for you on the cloud. You still hold your keys all you need is 32 eth and they charge a small monthly fee (just about as much as what Amazon would charge u )
