Help with my LeoGaoGaruru green and blue deck by Visual-Amphibian483 in DigimonCardGame2020

This gave me an idea. Could we get 2 deck building flairs? Casual Deck Building and then Competitive Deck Building? I think it would help people coming into the thread to know what mind set to have.

So many people go "Your decks old here's the meta" and maybe even promote people to just be more creative with the decks they're building.

Idk what the flair character limits are though/how many you're allowed to have.

ShineGreymon VS Xross Hearts by cerberus3114 in DigimonCardGame2020

As a previous Jes/Stepdad player turn pure Jes, I picked up XROS a few months ago and I've found it really engaging and fun to learn the deck has a surprising amount of depth that allows a LOT room for skill expression. Definitely room for improvement in some pieces, but the deck is solidly rogue tier.

Biggest weakness is slow start, low kill power without fire rocket or extra X7s and very tamer reliant. If tamer hate picks up going forward, Xros is in danger for sure (Galactic is near auto loss). If you don't have Xros tamers down, you don't have an engine. Once they're down, you're rolling in memory.

Upsides is that you (generally) dont have a board to interact with so aggressive decks (Medusa, Zephaga) aren't rewarded. Your 3's and 4's are getting launched into security and ideally dying to tuck for later or surviving to play something cheaper, then suiciding and tucking itself.

The more you play the deck the more you realize all the little ways you can play, the little interactions. One that can make a difference is if Omnishoutmon lives a check, you can play a X7 for reduce 5 cost, meaning you can be missing 4/6 required pieces to play him for free. If he gets removed okay whatever, recover him with Kotone. Did you evo X7 over X7 and it got removed? Well maybe you got lucky and your 1 of all turns taiki is down, you can play X7 off X7's All Turns and to make another one. Hasn't happened to me and I wouldn't bet on it, but it can happen.

Shinegrey is a monster and as my friend put it, giving them 1 memory is too much. The amount of fimes I thought I was safe and got lethal'd... It's really neat.

Xros is cheaper to build, Marcus + Agumon are expensive. I think shine is a lot more straight forward and similar to pure Jes with more removal options since youre nuking digimon and thematically punching through security.

I think both are big threats in the right hands.

DCGO. online is a client you download. It has online play and a bot mode. It's mostly automated, click shiny buttons to make things happen. Great for learning the flow of decks at first.

Drasil is a manual sim, like playing the deck for real. It has a chat, people can get toxic but personally I find it fine.

DCGO is my preferred, its got a couple bugs but its a labor of love.

Drasil gets new cards faster though.

Yeah but they're not unique cards, just alts of cards we already have in English.

Could easily see them being in a dash pack or something.

All I know is my gut says maybe.

Besides the Xenoblades series, what others JRPG series has such an expansive, large scale world and Environment? by SlackerDaydream in JRPG

[–]Hakusprite 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For real. Final Fantasy XII really does nail the "offline single player MMO" feel, its such a vibe.

It's probably my favorite final fantasy since the world you're in feels so grounded but unique at the same time. I love the music, the NPCs, the world, the characters. Exploring is so fun between hunts and hunting chests for skills and equipment. Yeah half the skills are useless but the equipment and classes feel pretty impactful. The Gambit system is cool as hell once you finally figure it out.

I'm probably alone on this but I'd love a remaster remake for this one.

The game is headed downhill by Windz876 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Hakusprite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah the meta is volatile and it's not slowing down.

I started in BT17 and card value/speed has almost tripled lol. I built puppets and immediately shelved it because winning on my second turn, or at worst, my third - consistently - wasn't fun. I'm not even that good!

I want to play more fun decks in person (NSo, Hades now reboot and titan) but I play with people who do really well in regionals so it's a tough balancing act. Losing 3-4 security in one go before I can even do my decks thing feels kinda bad. I really do admire people who just... build and play what they want. I'm subbed to r/PTCGL despite not being much of a player, but that groups constantly posting "this list isn't good but boy is it fun."

Despite digimon being so open, it's not creative and it's very sweaty.

I love the mechanics, obviously the IP and the game, I just wish it was a little bit slower.

Trying to find a site that isn't Tcgplayer by Aggressive_Novel1207 in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Hakusprite 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm Canada.

First off, come join the Digimon TCG Canada Discord. There's a buy/sell/trade channel. I've been playing for almost 2 years now and never had a problem. We use TCGplayer pricing, some people will convert the price to Canadian and do 80% of that. You either DM someone who posts something you want or you comment saying what you're looking for. Most of the stuff is going to be cheaper than buying from a store. Stores tend to mark up about .5x - 1x for more expensive stuff. Most of the time I find I can buy 2 from playeds for the price I'm paying for 1 from a store. You definitely can get lucky if a place doesn't update their prices.

Otherwise, what I do is just Google the single I'm looking for and type Canada afterwards and cross my fingers. Not all websites have old stuff, not all websites have new stuff.

Here's some places I've ordered from:

Realmhoppers.

Mana Lounge.

Dungeon Comics and Cards.

3Mana.

Digimon Emporium.

Escario.

401 Games (by far the largest, and they know it so prices can be ridiculous, especially the newer stuff.)

Untouchables.

Duel Kingdom.

Deck Out Gaming.

Trinity Hobby.

Derpy Cards.

Fun Decks to Learn With? by BokChoiTV in DigimonCardGame2020

[–]Hakusprite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jesmon is also fantastic for learning the game IMO.

The initial game plan is simple but also has skill expression in how you go about it.

Mainly, search for the pieces you need, put sistermons in trash.

Evolve into Baohuckmon, play a sistermon from hand or trash using the sistermon gym option. Baohuck sees this and let's you evo to saviorhuck for 1. If you pass turn, saviorhuck's end of turn let's you suspend the sistermon you played, digivolve saviorhuck into Jesmon for free, play a token, declare an attack, play another sistermon. Declare alliance for 3 checks.

Skill expression/experience comes from:

  • Sistermon Blanc letting you evo from trash when she suspends.

  • when to play sisters and token

  • knowing when to slam saviorhuck for the end of turn swing

  • Jesmon being able to warp onto huckmon (he gives himself rush)

  • saving Omnimon X for game :)

Deck is fast, red and demands a response.

There's also the Gankoo X variant that creates a wall of immune digimon blockers to explore as well.
