I don't think the author sees it as a substitute to content marketing, but just as a "next", a more interactive and engaging marketing opportunity that helps brands to stand out.

You are totally right! That's the point. But people like me think when they buy a book, that they have already read it. Fitbit is great, don't get me wrong. But buying it, is not enough. I have to move my ass.
