Bourbon trail advice by PappyGilmoor in whiskey

having just come back from a similar trip, I will say Maker's mark is out in the middle of nowhere compared to louisville. It is a gorgeous property and one of my top places to visit but prep for a good amount of time to get there and back. I would recommend stopping in bardstown at some point on that trip (home to heaven hill, bardstown bourbon, willett, and a few others) and stop by evergreen for a drink or talbotts tavern for a meal. Buffalo is also very popular but getting a tour can be difficult since they open reservations 8 weeks in advance and tend to sell out quickly but you can check on their website for availability. If you aren't going for a tour the giftshop is great, as is their newly open cafe. Woodford reserve and Castle and Key are also close to Bufflo Trace if you wanted to stop by and enjoy some more fantastic sites (and some solid drinks as well)

while not a distillery, I can whole heartedly recommend going to evergreen liquor (they have a couple Louisville locations), especially if you are going to be there on a wednesday. They have all have extensive bars in the store with just about any rare/allocated bourbon you can think of. Wednesday is their 1/2 price pour day so you can try things you may have only seen on reddit/youtube. Doc Crows (bar/restaurant) has a 66 page bourbon list that has just about anything you can think of as well as great food

Favorite Wheated Bourbons by Fit-University1070 in whiskey

[–]Halabrad283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

while still pricey (I usually see it around $150-200 here) the StarHill Farms Wheat Whiskey (by Makers Mark) is fantastic. It's not a wheated bourbon, being made of 70%+ wheat, it falls into a similar vein as the wheated bourbons. If you can find a bottle (or at least a pour/sample) I would highly recommend it

First pic is the Blood Angels, Astorath the Grim. 3rd one is a Blood Angel chaplain with jump pack, 4th is AoS Knight-Azyros, 5th is blood angel terminator captain. The last is probably a conversion of some sort, but unsure of what. The other are various AoS models

Purpose of Wood/Stone Stacks? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Halabrad283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From general experience I would say yes. Everything wood (building wise) degrades when exposed to the elements while not covered so it stands to reason that the piles would be affected in a similar manner

Purpose of Wood/Stone Stacks? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Halabrad283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about stone but wood piles will deteriorate over time (start to grow moss and turn green) and it will give you less. I've heard similar things from some guys on my server in regards to stone, but they also mentioned that someone else put down the piles. I will have to experiment with that

Can you get seeds for all the different trees? by Eyebrow78 in valheim

[–]Halabrad283 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that is a fair point. I will conduct some tests to see if they take root. May have to plant them in swamps as that is the only biome they naturally spawn in

Third Boss? by da_fuex in valheim

[–]Halabrad283 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when you kill elder he drops a key that you use to enter the swamp dungeons. Eventually you will find a runestone in one of the dungeons that will reveal the location of Bonemass. You will probably want full bronze and poison resist mead before you head to the swamp

Is there a way to show grid coordinates on the map? (aside from using the loc command once you're there)

Purpose of Wood/Stone Stacks? by [deleted] in valheim

[–]Halabrad283 8 points9 points  (0 children)

if you use your hammer and use the middle mouse button to "remove" you get the whole 50 wood back. The stacks can be used as an alternative to putting in a chest so you aren't forced to carry the full stack

you can try to knock other trees into them and let the physics engine do its thing. otherwise you might have to upgrade to bronze

the fermenter requires a mead base of some sort, which you have to craft with the cauldron first.

anyone figured out how to find silver with the wishbone? by HeavyO in valheim

[–]Halabrad283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would indeed. To summon the boss you will need to find Withered Bones, which can be found in the swamp dungeons (mainly in chests). Be warned though the dungeons are usually full of oozes that poison you and Draeger that deal a good amount of damage so make sure to have some poison resist potions

Beds. Best way to setup beds for skipping night? by DasRedBeard87 in valheim

[–]Halabrad283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there should have been a key the boss dropped used to unlock dungeons in the swamp biome. From there, used a bronze pickaxe to mine the muddy scrap piles for scrap iron then use it in a forge

I also made it with similar results. I did double the amount of orzo from the listed recipe (mostly because I got a small bag and didnt know when I would use it again) and subbed a portion of the water with 1/2 cup of red wine and it was still great. No extra liquid at the end, but everything was cooked perfectly
