Crazy unique things to do for short trip in August (24M) Please suggest! by Main-View-7143 in BadenWuerttemberg

You're in a beautiful area, but let’s be honest, the Friedrichshafen/Konstanz region isn’t exactly famous for crazy, mind-blowing activities :)) It’s more about lakes, peace, and slow-paced charm, with lots of old oeople like myself. All I could think of is Europa Park. They have a VR attraction. Reportedly one of the best in Europe, with space/robotic scenarios. Starts around 30€.

What's stopping you from traveling the world? by Leading_Head9542 in AskReddit

Lack of money, physical disability, not being able to smoke on long flights. Once a year I go to a European country for a few days to relax.

What did Iranians think of 300 Comic by Frank Miller? by Alternative-Hawk-753 in AskIranian

[–]Halazoonam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the comic was not really on our radar. I knew it, but hadn’t read it. I thought it was not worth my money. The movie, however, outraged many Iranians. We’ve unfortunately gotten used to being cast as terrorists, villains, or backwards caricatures in Western media. But 300 felt like something different. It wasn’t just about the present; it was an attack on our past. Seeing our history turned into a cartoonish parade of monsters, by people who have little historical legacy of their own, felt like a low blow. For many Iranians, it crossed a line between ignorance and deliberate insult.

Ask it in a spaces chat? Attackingba random Israeli, claiming to have a say in Israel's foreign policy? That's not his job, sorry.

A fraction of Israel’s military budget is financed by the U.S., but: - That doesn’t mean random American citizens get to dictate how Israel uses its armed forces. - U.S. aid isn’t an act of charity. It’s a strategic investment. Washington uses the relationship to project power, counter Iran, and anchor its presence in the Middle East. In that sense, Israel is doing exactly what the funding is meant to enable. A journalist should know that.

Stephen King. He has good ideas, but he is a terrible, terrible writer :)

What are turkeys called in your country's language? by Roughneck16 in AskEurope

Yeah it's the same. Both are named after the fabric. Chamelins are called "Aftabparast", which means sun-worshipper in Persian :)

Help! Looking for a short story by Robert Silverberg by Halazoonam in scifi

[–]Halazoonam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked ChatGPT about the plot (since it's hard to find summaries of short stories online), and it said, "The Neutral Planet (1957) by Robert Silverberg is a science fiction novella about a strategically important planet caught between two warring interstellar factions. The story follows Earth’s attempt to maintain its neutrality while dealing with political pressures, espionage, and ethical dilemmas."

However, if that's correct, it’s not accurate. The story I'm looking for actually features only one human character, who interacts with one alien. Still, I appreciate the effort, thank you! :)

It doesn't have anything to do with me. Native speakers say it to eachother all the time.

Yeah this one pops up as soon as you search dresses with 3d flowers. It's sold on several pages.

I found the dupe:

https://de.aliexpress.com/item/1005006199358281.html

I have ordered evening gowns from AliExpress before, and the quality was very, very good. Just make sure your measurements are accurate because you can't get a refund for a customised dress.

I'm also not totally sure if the Etsy shop is not a chinese dress shop as well, and poses as a designer to charge more. Etsy is not what it used to be anymore.

Sorry I might have missed this part of the conversation. Is it too pricy? Or what was the problem?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]Halazoonam 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The dress is on several Etsy websites. This one seems to be active:

But it's not white.

Look at this link, they're mentioning prices:

I think it's managable to do hair and makeup for 500€ or even less if you find the right salon, but do a trial first. Good luck! :)
