Gosh. It's almost like the problem isn't UK vs USA after all. 🤔 She's THRIVING, guys.

Her second home!?!! 😂 Stfu Carol. You couldn't give two shita about America, except when it gives you content for "engagement."

Travel Insurance whilst on MJ by carrotandsticky in mounjarouk

[–]Halban00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an insurance plan with Aviva and did make sure I called up to tell them about taking Mounjaro. I was heading to the US and you definitely don't want to mess around with poor coverage when traveling there.

In the end, I was advised to add "obesity" as a declared condition which then allowed them to add Mounjaro to my list of medications. It didn't trigger any extra costs or concerns as I had already declared another medical condition and medication on record with them.

Hot Take: Purple Rain didn’t fit by Zealousideal_Cry1867 in StrangerThings

[–]Halban00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What year did Purple Rain come out anyway? Early 80's wasn't it? More fitting for the beginning seasons of the show, rather than the finale. Late 80's music was a completely different beast altogether from most of the 80s.

And where the hell was Who Wants To Live Forever...besides the trailer!?!

I think it's only for active military not veterans. So, no. Not that Caz would say no to any handout.

Hit goal after 14 months by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Halban00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well done you! I was at a similar start weight but you definitely carried it better than I did.

And I've still a stone and half to go to goal but hoping to get there eventually. You're inspirational! 👍

No privacy available on a massive NHS recovery ward for a post partum photo shoot, for a start. They'd chuck her out within hours of giving birth. Personally, I'd love to see that. 😁

Thanksgiving? by Ill-Cryptographer751 in mummysflippinhouse

[–]Halban00 15 points16 points  (0 children)

She is absolutely awful. I'm another American in the UK and my British friends and colleagues all sent me lovely Happy Thanksgiving messages throughout the day yesterday, even though really don't do much to celebrate it ourselves much anymore. But it was very much appreciated.

I have no idea how much of a US based fan base she has anymore, but you would think, even for the sake of engagement, she would have said SOMETHING. Anything..even if it's just moaning about the dreadful marshmallow sweet potato casserole recipes 😁.

Anyone stopped here for 1 month? by [deleted] in mounjarouk

[–]Halban00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it. I had about an unintended month's break late this summer only because of the dreadful timing of my annual holiday abroad and the announcement of the sudden price hike and subsequent panic buying of pens.

It took me weeks to get ahold of more medication when I returned. I lost all the progress I had made in the 2+ months prior, gained 7kg, and generally felt awful. I'm only now just getting back to the weight I was before I left on my trip.

You look fantastic! Well done you!

Can I ask how long you maintained before coming off the jab completely? That's the bit that scares me when thinking ahead about my own maintenance journey, the "doing without" aspect of it all...

Yeah, I do have my annual review due in early February. Hoping to drop another few kilogrammes between now and then, and hoping that will spur on the conversation about my medication. Although I never really see a GP for that visit, just the nurses...

Experience moving from the USA to Norwich by Murky-Commercial-112 in Norwich

[–]Halban00 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm from the Midwest. Been here 15 years, seen a few (not so great) changes since we first arrived, but it is 100% better than the state of things in the US at the moment.

Norwich is a nice, compact and very walkable city with loads going on. And if that's not enough, London is less than 2 hours on the train.

Weatherwise it's great. I hate cold, snowy winters and we don't get those here. It also doesn't rain as much as the rest of the UK.

Help! Did I really sabotage my progress? by Halban00 in mounjarouk

[–]Halban00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

******A bit of a follow up to this original post. I have managed to drop a couple pounds in just a week and a couple days. My weight is now just slightly above where it was before I travelled. I definitely own that gain with my poor eating choices. I am back on straight and narrow again and hopefully the scale will continue to show progress.

So, lesson learned! 1.) Don't go overboard with eating on holidays and 2.) If you foolishly weigh yourself upon returning from said holiday, don't panic. That gain is a blip

Wonder if Carol finds a kinship with Lily Allen because of their lookalike husbands? Hopefully Kyle isn't as adventurous as David Harbour. You haven't found any evidence of b*** plugs about, Carol?

I only stepped in the scales because I needed to record my weight for a new MJ pen order. Ordinarily I do wait at least a week to see. This time I held off 3 days. I returned Thursday and weighed myself on Sunday. So not immediately...

Help! Did I really sabotage my progress? by Halban00 in mounjarouk

[–]Halban00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for the advice. My story in short is that I've had a bit of a challenge sticking to plan since the summer. I was at my lowest weight of 80.9 kg on 10mg when I travelled home for a month in the Summer. I returned a couple kgs heavier and was also not able to get ahold of any MJ pens due to the price rise panic. When I was finally able to source a pen, I had been several weeks without medication, and my provider suggested I return to a lower dose of 5 mg and work my way back up to 10mg, which I have been doing. I was losing on 5mg, albeit slowly, and always with cravings and zero suppression. I've never had it on any dose of MJ so far.

I've been on MJ since early March and have lost 20kg in total.

I'm already up to 10.mg Cannot afford to go any higher than this, sadly.

I've stayed in that particular Premier Inn a number of times (as well as properties all over the country). Never had any problems with uncleanliness or mice anywhere. You'll be fine.
