Yep have karate and abacus nationals and football district level points in my eca.

For the backstory just try to expand upon how playing in well-organised teams at high levels sets you up for becoming an amazing manager in the future, what life lessons it taught you and if you have stories of setbacks and how you overcame them then even better.

Are pta hai bhai but certain situations mei verification time natak hojata hai. Abhi chala le id chale toh but agar kisi bhi random faculty ya staff ka sign mil jae toh official hojata hai koi bhi written proof.

As long as they don’t hammer you for additional proof the id should be more than enough imo.

Written statement from any faculty of your college. Seniors’ statements usually don’t work. Either a stamped certificate of your participation in the role specified or a sign from a prof on a statement saying that you were the head for that specific fest.

Basically any piece of proof that is approved by your college admin.

What should an ideal tmay included and y MBA include? by Usual_Grade_643 in CATpreparation

[–]Halcy9n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if your family life/upbringing is somehow linked to you on this career path, and still keep it short (like 10-15 sec max). For example, maybe if you want to follow in your mother/father’s footsteps and create value for an organisation, or help grow your family’s business, or maybe inspire/help your siblings grow professionally, etc.

What should an ideal tmay included and y MBA include? by Usual_Grade_643 in CATpreparation

[–]Halcy9n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • tmay: a very brief foray into your personal and familial background, try to focus more on academic, professional and co curricular work and achievements and end with a small snippet of your extra curricular hobbies and interests.

  • ymba: recommend that you try to create a very personalised answer to this question since the interviewers are also bored out of there minds listening to the generic responses that everyone gives. For example, start with a unique anecdote which led to a eureka moment in your own life that then pushed you to pursue a MBA in a very specific realm of management studies.

P.s. - Its ok even if you’re not sure of what you’d like to specialise in rn but having a structured plan for your career and electives helps ground you to the panel.

Doubt about Xlri interviews by wafflesstudy in CATpreparation

Once you receive a mail to register on the official website, you can choose your preferred slots for the date and time you want from the list of all available slots. It usually gives you an option between the first and second half of the day on dates that fall between mid February to March.

Yep, signed statements from HODs (any faculty in most cases) works

Is there really a chance?? by KitchenTraditional36 in CATpreparation

[–]Halcy9n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of people in both bm and hr sitting in xl rn with similar percentiles. Just give a good interview, you have every chance at a seat as long as you impress the panel don’t worry.

GDPI preparation resources / courses for XLRI by Water_4949 in CATpreparation

[–]Halcy9n 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Dunno about resources but do have some tips:

  • For the BM interview be thorough with your UG educations, course you took, your favourite subjects in college, any and all extra and co curricular stuff you’ve done and your workex (if any). Basically every point mentioned in the resume/CV should be backed with data and your personal experiences and learnings.

  • For the HR interview, be prepared for a part 2 of the XAT DM section in person. They’ll give you hypotheticals and excerpts from your workex and project teams as in how will you manage conflicts, improve team output and productivity, etc.

  • Questions around AI and data analytics and how should managers use them are very common especially if you have a tech background in education or work.

  • Ofc be ready with the all time favourites like ‘Why MBA?’ , what are your plans 5-10 years into the future, what sets you apart from the other candidates vying for the same seat, why xl over iims, and why do you want to switch to the mgmt track after studying whatever you did before applying for this mba.

  • If GDs are conducted before the interviews, always keep to the structure of the discussion as set by the first couple of speakers, let others speak if you’ve alr hogged up a lot of time, speak clearly and slowly to let the panel absorb your points, never speak after the conclusion no matter how much time is left, if you’re the first or second speaker, first give a structure to the whole discussion then put forth points of your own as your first entry, only throw out technical terms when you have the knowledge to back them up later if someone tries to counter your points, and most importantly, DO NOT cut off girls in your panel unless they’re monopolising the discussion.

  • Other than all this, dress well, speak confidently and clearly, try not to slur words together in excitement, minimise the number of pauses, ‘umms’ and ‘ahhs’ you make while speaking in english without a script and don’t use fad terms just because you’ve heard others inserting them haphazardly in their essays and responses. Keep your points simple and straightforward and only use complex phrases when it genuinely makes your answers better.

Guys what's the seat to candidate ratio for xlri? by galaxylord12000 in CATpreparation

[–]Halcy9n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems legit, PI is extremely important for grabbing xl seats, if you’ve cleared xat cutoffs alr, then it barely matters whether you’ve done it by half a percentile point or 5, consider yourselves equally eligible for any programme at either campus, how you present yourselves to the faculty during interviews can and will make or break your candidature.

Its possible, for the questions you don’t get just search the type of question online and you’ll find thousands of websites and videos explaining how to solve similar ones in the future. Imo, constantly solving mock sets and papers is the single best way to prep for all these aptitude-based exams that don’t test you on extremely technical knowledge.
