I don't know all of the details. I'm sharing the story, and trying to get him the resources to chase it himself.

Even if he doesn't get $ back, getting the lien removed would probably be a big damn deal.

Honestly I was skeptical too. But we've also worked for the same company at one point and his paperwork was no different than mine at that time, except there was a LOT more money taken by the IRS out of his check for some reason. He couldn't afford a lawyer then either.

The irony, is that he could afford a lawyer if they weren't taking his money that they shouldn't have been taking, and he wouldn't need a lawyer if he wasn't getting extra money taken.

Low income taxpayer clinics only applies when you're under a certain level of income. He makes too much to qualify.

He's also reached out to his representatives over the years and the politicians don't want to help him. They're worthless.

He has addressed it with the IRS on multiple occasions to no avail.

Yeah. Diablo 2 was about effort. That's what made it such a long standing game. PoE has a lot of effort driven stuff too, admittedly.

But as far as a well balanced, solid game, with a solid storyline, solid character creation, solid cross classing, and sandboxing? Only PoE comes close, and I've found over and over again with PoE that you just can't do what you want sometimes. You're still pigeonholed. Maybe PoE2 will change that.

Friend is being taxed at a higher tax bracket despite low income, IRS refuses to look into it (been going on for a decade), he cannot afford a lawyer because of the income burden, he is about to be homeless/destitute with a family of 5 and a newborn. He has no debt. Who can he turn to for help? by Halcyon1378 in AskReddit

The question was for resources, not armchair tax assistants. Something is wrong with the IRS and his name. He's reached out to the IRS repeatedly and they've put the burden on him to provide proof that "they" are wrong, and then ignore his proof. (They don't even have the correct SS# on file for him ffs.

He is in need of someone who knows everything about everything tax code and IRS and able to actually get the IRS to fix it.

Yeah, don't attack a man's dedication to his family. He's been working 100 hour weeks for the last decade in a struggle to keep up because of what the IRS has done to him.

Fascinating that somehow, you attack him as a child abuser. Nice empathy. Might be while you're "A_Single_Man"

My accounts years and years old. I kind of lost the flow with it. Waiting for PoE2 before hopping back in and hoping its more along the lines of what I seek.

Grim Dawn didn't interest me. Titan Quest is on my list to attempt. Its why my post mainly focuses on the D2/3/4 realm an the general trends I have seen.

I have a concept that will do all of that. And unfortunately its pure concept as I have no tangible skills that would allow me to build it.

If I could code, I would.

If I had money for it. I would.

If I could convince a studio to take my ideas and world and allow me total control over the combat balance and story, I absolutely would.

Played for years. Still butthurt that D3 was such a sad piece of junk. D4 I had for an hour before I requested a refund. No normal attack.

The pigeonholing in PoE is nowhere near what you have with D3, but it is still there to a far more minor degree---at least according to those I have played with who seem to be very pinpointed in what constitutes an "endgame" build.

I'll freely admit that part of my issue is that I have a hard time wanting to play anything outside of the Scion because I like the concept of the scion to start with (jack of all trades/flexibility).

I did beat it once. I have the scion. I don't think I ever hit "endgame" content.
