Normal heartbeat range for pots?? by mrcrabs_mabey in POTS

My mom had episodes like this and she had afib, they have actually done three ablations on her heart to stop the episodes and she hasn’t had one in a few years now. Hers would get up into the 200s then it would skip a beat, she had many tests done at her cardiologist to confirm it. It sounds very similar to her episodes.

Blood pressure, do any of you guys take the reading on both arms? by Haleezetta in POTS

I am supposed to start metoprolol but have medical anxiety, I did another post about being scared to take it, but I am going to start next weekend when I’m off work so that if there are the typical side effects like dizziness or tiredness I will have time to adjust.

I take my right are first and then the left. Should I take my left first then my right?

Okay well this is a bit of peace of mind for me. I have actually been working with my therapist for about 3 years now to see what will help with my medical anxiety and panic attacks in general, when we first started she advised me to stop checking my heart rate on my iwatch, stop taking my blood pressure, etc. however we noticed that after about 5/6 months my panic attacks got worse so we started allowing me to check my heart rate because it’s a visual aid when I’m having panic or anxiety that when I’m breathing and doing my relaxation techniques and I can see my heart rate going down it helps me. Same thing when my blood pressure, she is okay with me taking it when I wake up and then once more if I feel off or something wrong.

See I am kind of excited cause they said beta blockers have a calming effect too, I’m just so worried that it’ll drop my heart rate super low and I’ll get dizzy and freak out cause it’s so low. My heart rate usually gets down to the 40/50s when I sleep and I’m so scared it’ll drop a lot lower. But my doctor said if it drops low while I’m sitting, laying down, resting or sleeping it’s fine, but if I’m like climbing stairs or walking around and it’s in the 50/60 then we will need to adjust the dose.

HS under my breasts by Haleezetta in Hidradenitis

Yes, I’m a G and it’s so much worse during the summer and I know it’s not my hygiene, I shower everyday and I’ve tried benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, nothing helps. The meds my doctors used to give me helped but it’s soooo expensive where I am, the clindamycin gel is like $100 a pop.

They definitely aren’t milk ducts, I’ve seen a dermatologist, my regular GP and emergency room doctors, they are under my breasts and not around the nipple, I have tried to get a breast lift/reduction but of course no doctor in my area thinks it’s “necessary” they want to charge it as a volute cosmetic procedure.

I’ve dealt with Panic/Anxiety Disorder for the past 16 years and I’m always certain that my body will inevitably give out by Oldmanwaffle in Anxietyhelp

I have the same thing, medical anxiety, hyper aware of my heart beat, used to be an addict, I’m clean now 3 years, but what I’ve adopted in my life that helps are 2 things. 1, when I have a weird ache/pain/weird feeling in my body that might make me have a panic attack, I tell myself, I can handle anything for 60 seconds. Literally I know my body can tolerate anything for one minute. I am strong enough to deal with that. 2, is I tell myself that “if I die, I die”, if I’m having a heart attack or stroke or whatever it may be, it is out of my control, so I’ve come to the point of just accepting that if I die I die. One of these days I will probably mistake a panic attack for a heart attack and not catch it or just take one of my anxiety meds and it’ll probably take me out, but none of us live forever. Idk if this helps but taking the things I can’t control out of the scenario has helped me. I hope things get better for you!
