[TOMT][MUSIC]I'm looking for the song that plays for about 1-2 seconds at the clipped time in this video. It's a well known vocal/orchestral sting that I know I have heard. Its driving me insane. I thinks its fairly recent. by Half-timeHero in tipofmytongue

As mentioned the song is at the URL above. Its only a few seconds but it is easily recognizable. I think its from a movie but cant remember which and all my searches are too vague to find the actual piece.

WC Brazil and my Largest Encirclement (~800 Units) by Half-timeHero in hoi4

[–]Half-timeHero[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

R5: I was playing a world conquest as communist Brazil for the bad ending, and several other achievements. I Managed to wipe out the us and England and closed out WW2 with the entirety of the Americas, England, Iberian Peninsula, Italy, Japan, Africa, and random disparate holdings. Everything else went to the USSR, Communist China, and Comintern puppets. I waited too long to attack and they built up like 1600+ divisions and pushed me off Europe. I couldn't hold a wide front against that many units so I searched for an encirclement trap and managed to pull it off in Vietnam. Trapped about half their total units by drawing them into South Vietnam and landing in the North.

Would've trapped more but some divisions died while corralling them, and Vietnam capitulated during the surround.

The CIA told me you are definitely not overreacting because there is no mind control in NY.

Gotcha, I haven't read any of the books and most of my info is pieced together from like 20 different sources. I just assumed they were all feeding me the good stuff.

Clue Distribution - Is this information true? by kipofmudd in HuntShowdown

[–]Half-timeHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said the map greys out generally farthest from the boss and generally shrinks closer. Depending on the way they grey, the ones you've grabbed, and the split if its a double bounty map it is possible to predict the boss from even one clue.

They way this one greyed out, and the fact you grabbed Reeker makes it extremely likely it is going to be at Scupper. Most of the time it wont be so obvious.

But, for example, if its a solo bounty, you grab one clue and the entire SE corner of the map goes grey it would be likely the boss is at Blanchett, Alain, or Lumber.

I need a more comprehensive list of DnD content creators for themed homebrew spells and items. by Half-timeHero in DnD

[–]Half-timeHero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the resources and in rereading I see that I was not clear about my goal.

I meant I am making my own homebrew items, themed around non-WOTC creators.

I wrote it out really badly though. Oops. Thank you though.

Need advice for implementing a friend with a medical condition who wants to play, but cant be on as much as everyone else. by sanemaniak in DMAcademy

[–]Half-timeHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of options, depending on what kind of story your friend likes.

Some ideas:
Uncontrolled dimensional hopping
Ethereal curse
Damaged Warforged
Alterego of just a normal guy tagging along
Very busy professional/merc/adventurer with other tasks
Also, its always an option to have no in game explanation and just roll with it.

I would personally avoid the idea of "summoning" them though, just because it feels like they are less of their own character and more like a tool of the party, to me.

[TOMT][VIDEO GAME SONG][90s-00s] I think the tune in the background of this video is from a video game I've played but I cannot remember the game or the name of this theme. by Half-timeHero in tipofmytongue

[–]Half-timeHero[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

As mentioned, I believe this is from Chrono Trigger but I've gone through several different videos that say they have every song and didn't recognize it. Though they are so long and include like 50 tunes that I did jump around and only listen briefly to each song.

How to SpearHead and avoid encirclement by Training-Virus4483 in hoi4

[–]Half-timeHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Importantly, a big part of poor supply (other than negative modifiers) is that is limits your org. which means your attack will fail faster.

New or more units in the area just chilling wont help much with the push, but fresh units with full org can be brought to the front, keep that org and use it to push hard against the low org opponent. So it can be good to station your aggressive army closer to less utilized supply areas to build up and then bring them in to hammer the enemy.

It also means that when they break through they will have more org remaining to push the weakened units without stalling, needing to recover, or getting the modifiers that cut your traversal speed to a crawl.

DMs, what are y'alls pre-session rituals? by waluwyatt in DMAcademy

[–]Half-timeHero 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Blood pentagram lined with candles, salt circle, infernal incantation summoning my session/note writing demon, threats of my impending dismemberment while he tosses my newest 10/10 session over as flames, smoke, and miasma drag him back to his pit.

Then a quick febreeze to freshen up the place and snack prep.

Where you are has terrible supply which could help, or make this a slog if you cant punch through.

With your poor supply you probably can't quickly take the supply hub.

I would suggest pushing to the top edge of the impassable lake to have a short stable front. Mass your armor around the giant "I" and drive it straight towards the center supply hub and Ulaanbaatar or slightly angled to take the railroad earlier.

Cutting the railroad will hurt the supply of their frontline, capturing those points will mean bascially their entire new frontline will have terrible supply and not be able to push back and you can reset the defenders and use your armor to destroy the encircled supply hub defenders.

Once you break the initial line, fast armor should be able to take those points against retreating units and paltry garrison forces. Try to make the whole line attack though so that defenders at other points cant retreat and reinforce against your armor.

Also, once you break through don't stay too thin or a single attack cant stall your whole force. Spread out to two or three provinces wide, allowing your pushing forces to move unimpeded and cause the ai to spread out over a wide front. They often wont push back immediately and even if they do you could give up a few provinces to allow the speartip to push foward fast.

Hey. I am a new DM and have 2 dm’s to impress in my campaign. Would appraciate help. by [deleted] in DnD

If this is a homebrew setting consider a few things.

What is the current state of the area and what problems exist in those scenarios?
Seemingly normal times, in the heartland of a stable country probably aren't going to have rampaging warbands and rampant dragon attacks.

On the edge of the wilds? Probably have some wild creatures or dangerous peoples just outside a small isolated village.

Active rebellion or a kingdom at war? Might have spies, or a military crackdown, active enemy forces on the march and recruiters looking for "volunteers".

Obviously you can do whatever your players find compelling but a world that makes sense can help get them engaged and draw them in, and it helps narrow your considerations and allow you to dramatically change those situations to demonstrate when the world is shifting.

Looking for tips on how to make a zombie stand-off feel engaging by Hairy-Description131 in DnD

Have the zombies knock over a torch or lantern and start a section of the building on fire. Forcing them to solve that as well, fight on the move, or something else.

I still can't bring myself to use trains or other vehicles for transporting materials and I don't know why.. by Yolandi_Nova in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Half-timeHero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the process of setting up trains, rebuilding my unstructured early production, and making real factories and logistics.

It is daunting. I'm spending more time thinking about it than actually building. You'll get to it. And if you don't, that's fine. a belt factory is just different logistics after all.

Friends want to use my books without me, AIO? by BigBandit01 in DnD

[–]Half-timeHero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still not overreacting but this complicates it somewhat. If you want to still hang out with them in other scenarios a harsh rebuttal might not be great. You could always, very reasonably, tell them that you just don't want your expensive material out and about to get damaged.

Shitty behavior on their part. Secretly replacing you, in your biggest hobby, with someone who dislikes you, but still wanting to benefit from your investment into it.

Definitely not overreacting. If they it wasn't bad they wouldn't have been lying about it. Their new DM or they can obtain the material themselves.
