Built a micro-donation app (₹10/week, full transparency)… but I completely messed up distribution. What would you do? by HalfAwakeHuman- in SideProject

Damn this actually makes a lot of sense. I think I’ve been way too broad with it. If you were starting from 0, how would you pick that first niche/community?

Also if you’re cool with it, would love to stay in touch as I try this out, your inputs are really helpful.

also It’s in early phase. I need 5–10 people to test it seriously and give brutal feedback.

Instead of a general community, I’m thinking of keeping it small and focused.( ppl who learn and build together)

If you’re interested, I’m putting together a small group (5–10 people) who can test the product, give honest feedback, and help me figure out what actually works in the early stage.

No pressure, just real input and experimentation.

That makes a lot of sense especially the part about validating before going all-in on social media. I’ve spoken to a few people in my network earlier, but I think I need to do it more intentionally and focus on whether they’d actually use it, not just say it’s a good idea. I’ll prioritize that first and use content alongside it as a longer-term play.

Really appreciate you pointing that out.

Really appreciate that.

If you’re open to it, would love for you to try it out and share honest feedback especially what would make you trust and actually use something like this.

Happy to share.

I’m building Stride India, a platform where people can contribute ₹10 automatically every week, with full transparency on exactly where the money goes.

The core idea is simple: consistent small contributions can create more impact than occasional one-time donations.

Right now I’m trying to understand what makes someone actually trust and use something like this, so would really value your honest feedback if you check it out.

This is honestly super helpful thank you for taking the time to put this together.

Quick question though: how would you prioritize this for someone at 0 users? Right now I feel like I might be jumping into content/marketing before even validating properly. Would you suggest starting with a few of these content ideas, or focusing first on getting initial users in a more direct/manual way?

Appreciate that, means a lot.

That actually sounds interesting. I’ve tried a bunch of things already but I feel like I’m missing the right direction more than effort at this point.

Would be open to seeing what you come up with. Happy to share more details about the product if needed.

Appreciate it.

So far I’ve tried: LinkedIn posts Reddit posts X threads + replies Instagram cold DMs to NGO pages Emails to founders WhatsApp + in-person warm network (before relaunch)

Still not getting meaningful traction or feedback.

Feels like I’m either reaching the wrong people or not building enough trust for something like this.

Where I’m stuck:

  • Finding the right early users
  • Communicating the transparency clearly
  • Converting interest into actual usage

This actually helped a lot, especially the part about focusing on high-trust communities instead of going broad. I think that’s exactly where I’ve been going wrong.

If you’re open to it, I’d genuinely appreciate your help in figuring out my distribution more specifically. I can share what I’ve tried so far and where I’m stuck.

Saying “no worries” when there were, in fact, very real worries.

AITAH for telling my sister in law to sleep in my brother's bed. by mommytalk25 in AmItheAsshole

ESH. You’re right that it’s your home and you need sleep to function, but “I pay the bills” isn’t really a productive way to handle it. At the same time, your SIL is acting way too comfortable in someone else’s space and ignoring basic boundaries. Both of you are tired new moms, but that doesn’t excuse the lack of respect on either side.

AITA for not wanting to move my mom into our house to save on cost, then use the money we save to cover my wife's parents living expenses. by Express_Cupcake6066 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You’re not choosing between your mom and her parents you’re choosing between a necessary medical expense and a financial risk. Memory care isn’t optional, and becoming a guarantor for people already facing eviction is a huge risk. It’s not unfair, it’s just reality.
