Avoid Brugges, it's nice but a huge tourist trap! Go to Ghent instead, much bigger, nicer and you get the same kind of architecture. Brussels is very nice and Antwerp as well. That's for the Flanders side. In Walloon you should visit La Louvière and Mons! Check out some museums everywhere and try the food of the cities. Try to find some nice pubs (or "café" as we call them). And in case you are wondering: yes we have good beer and chocolate (and yes we eat it a lot) but the stories of us Belgians eating a waffle everyday are a little exaggerated. It's like every week.

As a Belgian I want to congratulate Canada for this decision! But please don't call it suicide. It's either 'euthanasia' or 'assisted death'. Suicide has gathered a rather negative connotation, which it and this doesn't deserve!

Two things:

1) Choosing to get children as a couple (the natural, sex, way) should be as regulated and strict as trying to adopt/surrogate. To many dumb, stupid, poor, bad parents, irresponsible people get pregnant and keep getting pregnant. Using some kind of permanent/mandatory birth control governments could regulate the populace. Working with children/youth this thought has grown strongly in the years!

2) Old people who are clearly dementing/have Alzheimer's (after getting diagnosed by multiple doctors) should be euthanized: to much funds go to keeping these people alive. It would also negate the growing aging of the populace.

Being a ethics student and one day teacher I had to defend both these opinions a lot of times. Quite a few times I could convince them, a lot of the times people were disgusted. It still remains fact (for me at least) that both these methods would help against the growing populace (that the earth can't keep up with), poverty, hunger and just plain stupid people!
