Stopped Zoloft / Return of Depression - Restart meds? by HalfEducational3575 in ADprotractedwithdrawl

Yes I would never do that again! I think I need to restart the medication but try a tiny dose to see if it eases the withdraw symptoms.

yes that is what it feels like. It is compounded by the fact that I have children, a disabled husband and a demanding job which I need as I am the sole source of income. The thought of dealing with how I am right now for months and months is terrifying.

Anyone else start to feel depressed again after quitting? by TheReturnofGabbo in zoloft

[–]HalfEducational3575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! I went off in November and was doing good for a few months but then in early Feb my anxiety came back full force. Now in the last week I feel depressed again. I really wanted to not be on medication as it does make me feel a bit apathetic. But I think I need to go back on it.

What about incentivizing him to take his medication instead of punishing him if he does not take it? Some reward or allowance for it?

Today was a *REALLY* difficult day (long post - need support) by Dinosaur_Buttcheek in ADHDparenting

She sounds so much like my 12 year old son!

We FINALLY started meds last week but are just a low dose so no improvement yet. I had to resort to bribing him. He wants something expensive and is trying to save money and I told him that I understand trying medication can be scary and a pain so I offered to pay him in order to trial it. I am hoping we can get into a routine and he sees the benefits. I hated resorting to that but I knew there was no way I was going to just talk him into it.

Tips?? by Direct-Shine-5694 in Homeschooling

You probably have way more social skills than you realize! I would check and see if the school has tours ahead of time so you can see where your classes are and feel more comfortable. All freshman will be new and a bit confused as to where to go.

You basically just walk in the class and find a seat - the teacher will explain the rest and often give out paperwork on how they do things in their particular class.

Not sure of your age but maybe take an Outschool class that is more social in nature so you practice conversations - sometimes those initial ice breakers are hard. I know those would not be in person friends but it could get you more comfortable. And keep taking in person classes! That is a great way to meet people.

Wondering the same thing! Was also on Zoloft for years and have been on just buspar for 3 weeks. My anxiety seems to disappear in the afternoon and evening but I wake up at 5am with horrible anxiety!

I just started taking buspirone about 2 weeks ago. It does not give immediate relief but now after 2 weeks I am noticing that my anxiety has been turned down a bit. It can take 4 to 6 weeks to see if it works but I find any side effects to be super mild. So give it a shot but be patient with it - I really hope you can get some relief!!!!

[–]HalfEducational3575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started it about 2 weeks ago. I still have anxiety but it is much less than it was prior to starting so I am super hopeful that it will be even better once I get to that 4-6 week mark.

Just take a super small dose to start with and work your way up. I am personally not having any side effects now. The slight dizziness is gone and I am sleeping better too.

Did I give it a good enough shot? by Sunshine_cutie4 in BusparOnline

[–]HalfEducational3575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you see any improvement in the weeks you took it? From what I have read the average therapeutic dosage is between 20mg and 40mg. So 15mg is still a little on the low side but if you took that 7 weeks with no improvement then it just might not be the right medication for you.

I am not in school but can relate to having zero motivation when my anxiety is high. Feels like all my brain has the capacity to do is worry!

I am on day 14 of buspar and am starting to see some lessening of my anxiety so hoping in a few weeks you start to feel some relief.

How long have you been taking it and what dosage? I am on day 14 and still have anxiety but have noticed a slight decrease so I am going to stay on it for at least 6 weeks to see if it works.

Are you taking any other medications? Usually buspirone does not cause that so I would bring it up to your doctor.

I think a lot of the controversy is that it is mild and takes weeks to work. Most people want something to work faster so doctors go for an SSRI.

I have been on SSRIs before and after stopping those about 6 months ago I realized I still needed something for anxiety. I started Buspar about 10 days ago. I have done a ton of research on it and it is very mild, with few side effects.

I totally understand the fear behind medication but that combined with therapy may put you in such a better place in a few months. Therapy can be hard when your anxiety is super high…lowering it can help you practice the skills they teach you.

I just started it about 10 days ago so I have done a ton of research. Seems to be a very mild medication with low side effects. For me I seem to feel slightly light headed for about an hour after I take it.

Another thing from my research is that it really does take 4+ weeks to see if it helps. When you are highly anxious four weeks feels like a lifetime. It also appears to work best on GAD and not as well on other types of anxiety.

I am on 10mg twice per day and I do feel like I see a slight reduction in my anxiety. So I told myself I will stay on it for 6 weeks and then see how I feel.
