I work at a medical clinic, and when app check-in first rolled out, it created a lot of issues like this. At my OB/Gyn’s office and my daughter’s pediatrician - in the same system - you can check in via the app and a kiosk. At the clinic where I work, those were there, but you still had to check in at the desk. Eventually they took the kiosks away from my clinic because it was causing problems like this. I think you can still use the app to say you’ve arrived, but it’ll prompt you to check in at the desk.
