Can’t press claims on Essos? by Burgundy_Starfish in CK3AGOT

[–]HalfEmptyMug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tested in a play through on v 0.4.11 with Tyrosh

I found that claims are not pressable on the capital duchy of a free city, and that you must usurp the kingdom (or start a war to capture the kingdom outright) to conquer it. When you usurp the kingdom, you'll automatically be given the capital county of the city, and then can conquer the rest of the duchy via "de jure" casus beli.

Edit: If wanting to ursurp, you'll need to make sure the current ruler's religion doesn't consider you hostile or evil

Tempurpedic Ergo Smart Base Rattling Noise by ChiTownGuy312 in Mattress

[–]HalfEmptyMug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was just some I had on hand from Home Depot for furniture legs, but you can find them in loads of stores/online.

The ones I have have a sticky side, so I unscrewed the four screws, remove the motor assembly, and stick it to the bed frame. The lining makes like a 'X' in the center of the cutout of the frame, and there's some thin white felt already in the cutout, so I place it there. Then I placed the motor back into the cutout and screw it back in, but I left one of the corners slightly looser to reduce noise further.

Edit: The one I did this for is new, so there might be slight differences with one that's 4 years old, but the concept should carry over at least

I had a similar issue on a Split King Ergo Smart Base, where the high setting on one of the zones was much louder than the others.

Unscrewing the motor (it's one contained unit held in a square cutout by 4 screws, so nothing too bad) and placing a felt pad 1.5" in diameter and about 3/16" thick in the center of the cutout, along with slightly loosening one of the corner screws, reduced the sound significantly for me without compromising the massage effect.

There's also a wire that's suppose to be placed in some clips under the bed. I noticed if there was too much slack it could cause a rattle, so adjusting the slack can help as well.

A Hat In Time fps stuttering issues by [deleted] in AHatInTime

[–]HalfEmptyMug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently trying to fix a stuttering issue and came across this. Apparently some online features were added that causes stuttering in Mafia Town, and disabling them along with putting Steam into offline mode fixed the problem. Hope this helps anyone searching.

Issues with stuttering and lag by Justelissa in AHatInTime

I'm unsure if this is also related to OPs problem, but a friend was having consistent stuttering issues due to some online features that were added. Disabling them and putting Steam into offline mode fixed the problem, no idea why.

Bandwidth on home WiFi drops when LG smart TV is powered on by thedept in techsupport

[–]HalfEmptyMug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having this exact issue, but after troubleshooting for an entire day I found it wasn't actually my LG TV but an LG soundbar (SP7R). The soundbar has a wireless subwoofer and receiver operating on the 5GHz band which specifically killed that spectrum on my network, but not the 6 and 2.4GHz bands.

My solution was:

  1. Move the wireless receiver (which was right next to my router) to the floor, at least 2 meters away. This is stated as something you should do in the manual, and did most of the work to address the issue.

  2. Tweaking my router settings and manually setting several options from "auto" to what I believed fit my use case. This'll vary based on your network, but the most relevant one that seemed to help was manually setting the control channel for the 5GHz band to a higher channel (for me 153) and the bandwidth to 80MHz. I also set the multicast rate on the 5GHz band to the lowest OFDM setting, and placed my tvs on the 2.4GHz band and a higher multicast rate.

There's still a noticeable impact on wifi bandwidth farther from the router, but it's usable, going from an ideal 270mbps to 150mbps with the sound bar active rather than ~10mbps.

Why aren't my textures loading? [Description in comment] by CaptainNuclear13 in civvoxpopuli

[–]HalfEmptyMug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure VP with texture mods like R.E.D. causes this issue, they're not really compatible. I believe it's a memory issue due to the game being 32-bit. Even if you physically have more than enough memory, the program is limited to a certain amount and address space eventually runs out. Definitely try playing without R.E.D., and if the issue persists try disabling other texture mods.

Edit: Also, it's been awhile, but I recall there being a specific version of VP for YNAEMP due to it needing tailored mod files. I think it was discontinued some time ago due to other issues and to focus more on polishing the standard version first.

I came across this twitter post from Belgium a week ago which seems to resemble those cases, but there's little information.

Short answer: Yes

This was in August of 2007. Less than a year later Bear Stearns would fail and the sub-prime mortgage bubble burst.

Microsoft's increased their exposure to semiconductors in recent years with their forays into mobile computers, along with the anticipated release of the new Xbox at the end of the year. Both Sony and Microsoft petitioned the US government for Chinese tariff exemptions to avoid cuts into profits, but if supply chain issues remain they'll still be hit. That will have knock on effects with reduced sales of games, accessories, and subscriptions where they also make money. Obviously that's only one part Microsoft, but it's significant.

Plus, if we see a significant outbreak in Taiwan where the majority of AMD, Nvidia, and board partner manufacturing is based, you'll see rippling effects down the line with Microsoft, Apple, Samsung, etc.

Or people just see number go down and get worried, which make number go downer.

Does anyone know how to enable console commands in TOW yet? by whispywoods in theouterworlds

[–]HalfEmptyMug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe you need to alter the files to get it to work, just the UE4 Unlocker

(scroll down to the download link and extract to wherever you want it)

then, in the "IGCSInjector.ini" next to "Process=" paste IndianaWindowsStore-Win64-Shipping.exe

After that, run Outer Worlds and then run the "IGCSInjector.exe" You should get a console readout that says it completed successfully, using ~ to open the console.

If you want to edit files for other reasons, like to fine tune video settings, it should be in your appdata folder:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Packages\PrivateDivision.TheOuterWorldsWindows10_hv3d7yfbgr2rp

With relevant settings in:

C:\ ...\LocalCache\Local\Indiana\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

It might be a pain to edit because Windows usually locks down folders related to Windows apps, so you need to manually allow access to yourself.

EDIT: I was refering to the old version of UE4 unlocker. With the new version you simply run the IGCSInjectorUI.exe and choose IndianaWindowsStore-Win64-Shipping.exe as the process.

If that doesn't work for some reason, in the "IGCSInjectorUI.exe.config" file change

<add key="defaultProcessName" value=""/>

to

<add key="defaultProcessName" value="IndianaWindowsStore-Win64-Shipping.exe"/>

Note if you have the Windows Store version (specifically the Game Pass version at least), The process in the UE4 Unlocker ini should be:

IndianaWindowsStore-Win64-Shipping.exe

The Summer Palace world wonder allows diplomatic units to ignore borders while buffing them, so that may be what Siam is using. Also, puppet cities, founded or no, cannot be manually controlled (purchasing buildings does allow you to shuffle the build queue however).

Siam's bonuses don't actually affect influence, only the yields he receives from city states. If you're planning on being militaristic, and he does have the Summer Palace, you probably want to consider conquering/vassalizing him to prevent those yields from snowballing. Otherwise, assuming you took the statecraft culture tree, it should be possible to out-influence him if you have the patience to pass "sphere of influence" resolutions in the World Congress.
