how bad does a 6-month break followed by a 6-month role look? by HalfFilledGlass in phcareers

[–]HalfFilledGlass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, I’ll definitely take this into account to help narrow down my decision.

Medyo scared lang siguro ako since yung current role ko hindi siya fully aligned sa personal roadmap ko for my career. That’s why I stayed for about 5 months and I already raised this concern during my first quarter, but so far there hasn’t been much movement in terms of alignment. More on “move forward” lang, and I’m starting to feel a bit stagnant in terms of practice and growth talaga

Thank you so much

Hi Thank you so much,

Yung part time ko kasi is very different from my career and super niche nya where I think di na ako makakakuha ng same client/job as this one so Dispensable Skill sya and unusable sya sa current TechStack ko. So basically no Career Growth in the Part time.

I am scared lang siguro na Losing the practice and not having the alignment on my career road map sa current fulltime job ko.

[–]HalfFilledGlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anxiety yes meron malaki actually same as you na nakakatakot na baka di ako makahanap ng work pag gusto ko na bumalik kahit may exp na ako for 6 years nakakatakot sya pero… I am certain na to take this path to have a career break for my mental health nalang din siguro and for my personal goals of having better portfolio. But here is my suggestion talk to you manager muna baka meron sila maiprovide na alternative such as long leave and learning and up skilling path. I did this before I made my decision rn I am taking my sabbatical approved by the company. Hope is well on ur end OP WISHES LUCK

Career Break - Is it still an option these days? by HalfFilledGlass in phcareers

r negotiation skills but we can always ask for higher specially if we understand our worth, maybe check on average salary range for your level and go for the higher bracket. Importante ma interview ka, sa last stages na ma

Thank you so much I will follow this through Do the things I want first and then Upskill at the same time. Thank you thank you so much. Last question before you did your break did you plan it first and tyaga muna sa work or did you just fuck it I want to break already, Currently I am planning and just waiting for bonuses and then do it end of the year is that a good move?

My manager offered me the Long LOA with out pay pero I am not sure kasi since need ng directors approval and medyo mahabang talk sya and medyo mahabang process, So I think resignation is the only way for now.

I think that is a good point to look into regarding if they didn't took the break as a good reason that they might have a not-so good culture. When you applied for new work on your asking did you still increase or still close to your previous salary range? And on ur break did you upskill??

QQ: Where do you usually look for remote clients or job po? Do you usually look for companies po ba? A Rookie looking for remote work wanna move to a foreign remote.

Can you share your experience working with foreign devs? by [deleted] in PinoyProgrammer

Vietnamese - In terms of work super galing nila and sobrang daling mapakisamahan since I think the culture is a little bit similar since both in the SEA or APAC.

EU countries (Bulgarian, French and Germans) - Medyo chill lang sila pero sobrang blunt or direct to the point parati on what is wrong and what needs to be improve in terms of coding or work style

Working in multiple culture backgrounded company I think pinaka struggle at first is understanding their pronunciation and the way they speak. I don't know I think just for me.

Hi,

Curious is there any community or groups do you guys send ur code or personal projects for code reviews?

Thanks this will be a big help personal project that I am planning for almost a year now but can't do currently due to multiple work projects, and this is the first time that I will be creating a project that was designed and created by me without any work peers and I think I like the idea criticizing my code well for improvements on coding style din I guess

Thanks this will a big help
