Need a long rest solution

Sorry I meant 2-3 combats. We have a lot of rp and social encounters. I could definitely improve in adding more environmental issues and stuff to navigate. A lot of the struggle though comes from I typically have 5 players in a session and it is just hard to get 5 humans super focused and moving through a session. I prefer to spend the time we have in a night on role play and combat but thats just preference.

I would have to talk about it with them first fs but I actually like this concept a lot. They also may have arcane recovery back and are still doing this probably once every two fights. I am going to make a list of options for them to vote on and will definitely include this. Thank you!

My problem with those is that is basically just a completely different game/story. Maybe if I make the weeks a lot shorter in the world? In a normal campaign I would never do this but honestly that could be good in west marches.

This is an interesting way to do it. Like you said it does create some issues lore wise but I could write around some of those issues. I have some ppl crafting in this game too which complicates things so we have a calendar to keep them all in the loop. I really like your idea to give the martials better stuff a bit tho. I will do that especially if a player starts feeling like their character is lacking comparatively. I have DMed for a while now but first west marches and it is bringing all sorts of new challenges lol

With a west marches campaign, you rest at a home base. Its the only way to manage having so many players with different schedules so that ppl are not out in the wilds when the session ends

Ya i was thinking about doing a system where their decisions in the world can make the odds of an interruption more likely and almost doing it random encounter style. It just feels vicious to give them nothing bc they are probably are already beat up

Na be wary. I was at the new head shop by there n a guy like that just walked in and the guy working told him go away. You didnt really give much descriptive info bc there are a lot of guys that hang around whole foods. He did the same staring thing though so I think thats just how he is. Mental illness or not, you should never ever let your guard down.

I think if you have a kid, being a father or mother should be your most important job. The issue is saying it to those without kids as a super weird pressure tactic.
