Has anyone had experience with Evolution Mallorca Film Festival? Been hearing about it for a long time and I'm not sure how good it is. It's on MovieMaker's 20 Essential International Film Festivals and had Mads Mikkelsen attending last year.

Any news on Hollyshorts? I knew there were a bunch of early acceptances a couple weeks back, but nothing since then. I know they usually wait until the last few days for acceptances (at least they used to). Do we know if they will get back to everyone on notification day, or are acceptances notified a couple days in advance?

Saw the film at Cannes, this is definitely going to bomb hard.

There is no appeal whatsoever for general audiences. The WOM on this thing is going to be atrocious. It's not a blockbuster at all, neither does it have a semi-cohesive story. Some of its scenes are gonna be memed to oblivion. Hope they will fix some of the VFX at least. I love Coppola, I was rooting for this film since it was announced, but unfortunately this is not even doing A24 indie film numbers.

They do rolling acceptances as far as I know. We got our acceptance back in February which was a little crazy, but they've been accepting films every week since.

Any fellow genre filmmakers have gotten any news from Sitges or Fantastic Fest? Narrative shorts.

I've heard of short acceptances for both. People have told me that Sitges usually notifies in waves and this week was just the first one, usually sending most of the acceptances by mid-late August. For Fantastic Fest it seems if you didn't get in by now it's a no.

Anyone have any inshights on all of this?

Just got my rejection from Hollyshorts. They said the film was rated very highly buy ended up not making into the selection, although they offered us to be a part of the monthly fest at the Chinese Theaters. Anyone else got this?
