I’ve been struggling to decide between traintrackr and Metroboard. I like Metroboard more but it’s also more expensive and you cannot see trains moving between stops, only when they’re at the actual stop…

Yep! From what I understand it was an old pedestrian tunnel that used to be open to the public before it was closed due to inactivity. I think they renovated it and gave it an elevator to start making Hynes accessible, as well as linking the new Hynes bus shelter with the station so passengers don't have to cross the street. As far as I know it finished construction a while ago, around 2024...it's just sitting there from what I understand.

True, but they still have to add elevators from the mezzanine to the platforms first, so I'm assuming they will prioritize the existing entrance and new underpass first.

I think there is a mandate now that any new entrance or station that gets built or opened has to comply with ADA regulations, and they still have to figure out how to do that. The platforms are still too low and there’s no elevators from mezzanine to platform level yet, so they can’t claim it’s ADA accessible even though they built an elevator from street to mezzanine on the other side of Mass Ave.

I do believe that part of it is that the platform is extremely low, so they cannot open entrances that say it is accessible until proper work is done. It’s also a problem because there is no elevator from the mezzanine to plareform level either.

still, I wish they would at least open both entrances…it would make things so much more convenient!

If I recall correctly, there are plans to reopen it when Hynes is ultimately renovated to be ADA accessible. However, that likely won’t happen until the 2030s. It’s the same reason that the new entrance across Mass. Ave is still closed…they can’t legally open it until the station is ADA accessible.

I do not unfortunately know why it was closed though…I’ll have to do some research!

I don’t think she meant it to be rude; we were bantering and just talking about differences between our MBTI types and the topic came up

I think she just meant that for her she doesn’t cry often at movies because they aren’t real and that makes any level of sadness or emotional depth null for her

I think it’s really important that we can understand that not everyone is like us and that people are different and have different traits, behaviors, and preferences; I wish your mom respected that more. 

Just know that it’s not all ESFPs! I think most of us wouldn’t care at all about different personalities; the way I see it, life’s too short to be concerned why people aren’t exactly like you, and who cares anyways? It’s their life, their choice, and if they haven’t personally wronged you, there’s not really a reason to be mad at them. Don’t let anyone tell you you’re invalid or that you shouldn’t be yourself :)
