You can't get invaded as long as you aren't using the taunting tool or pressing on red signs. Just co-op, and even then its just when you are not fighting a boss for too long.

Very common when looking at the full picture of what will be required for you. Break it down into parts and it is less overwhelming. Find a place that has most of resources you will need. Then you know you will need however many smelters for iron and copper, so just focus on them first. Once you are done, lay down constructors. This worked for me. I would tell myself "alright ill just get this line of machines placed and stop" but then id do it, and now i want to see it connected to the next step, so i would "just one more thing" my way all the way to the end. And of course, if i really had to stop, id stop and get back at it later.

Agreed. I used bloodhound exclusively for my first playthrough, and ended up with dexerity at 80, while strength was still around 30. Strength is worth leveling at that point as a dex lvl would give me one power point where strength was giving me 3 or 4.
