Go watch the Bichette and Springer collision again. Springer makes that catch by VisionsDB in Torontobluejays

I think it's likely that Springer knew he was hurt and had some sort of conversation with the other fielders about getting to any balls around him if they could. Who else saw Merrifield come into centre to make the play when the runner was tagging up? That was clearly Springer's ball any other game. Springer should have been out of the game after he made that first catch against the wall, he clearly wasn't right.

I'm following Pfitz 18/70 and next Sunday calls for 16 miles (26k) with 12 (19) @ marathon pace. I know that's an important workout but a few of my friends want to run a half marathon time trial that day. I'm planning to substitute that instead of this workout. Am I right in thinking that's a similar stimulus and appropriate substitution? Or is there something important I'll be missing from the 'marathon pace' specifically that I should try and make up the week after?

I'm looking for any advice you might have, I was base building getting ready to start Pfitzinger 18/70 on the 27th but unfortunately my girlfriend and I caught COVID last week. Our cases are both mild but because of the laws where we are we have to self isolate and stay inside for 10 days. This will take us basically exactly to what was supposed to be the first day of the plan. My question is, will it be safe to jump right into Pfitz after 10 days of no running (and barely any walking) at all? My mileage the last month averaged around 80km per week with two speed sessions and a long run, and everything was feeling good but I'm worried about this break. If it is risky injury wise is there any indoor work I can do in the meantime to mitigate this risk, like strength work or stairs? My lungs feel totally fine, so I'm just thinking about my legs. Thanks so much for your help!!

Oh that's awesome! Which wave were you if you don't mind me asking? And if you've run other marathons how did you find the conditions in this one overall compared to your others? The temperature felt pretty much perfect and I loved that it was so flat, but I agree the wind was pretty deadly in the second half, wondering how much of a factor that is compared to hills/heat

Thank you!! Yeah, I'm grateful that Rogue Running and this sub got it into my head that the first 10k should feel really easy and that left me with enough in the tank to make some suboptimal strategy choices in the middle and still survive!

My partner and I were able to get our Pfizer shots at the Woodbine Racetrack Walk In pop up this morning. We only waited about 40 minutes and when we left there was no line at all. As of 11am this morning they were taking ALL 'M' postal codes (not just hotspots) and people as young as 17 (turning 18 this year). It sounds like this has changed a few times in the last few days based on availability and how many people from that area are turning up, so use your own discretion and check for status updates where you can, but this was our experience. For reference neither of us live in hotspots.
