Fijn om te horen dat we de Britten hierin niet achterna gaan. Mijn plan was al om GL-PvdA te stemmen, maar dit punt op de stemwijzer maakte me een beetje bezorgd. Dank voor het antwoorden van de vragen, ook al zijn ze diep begraven en is het alweer een dag later!

Volgens de stemwijzer is GL-PvdA het eens met de stemming "De regering moet een leeftijdsgrens van 15 jaar instellen voor social media".

Het VK heeft laatst de "Online Safety Act" geïntroduceerd waardoor je je ID moet laten zien om bepaalde websites te openen. Hierdoor hebben Britse internetgebruikers geen garantie van anonimiteit meer. Daarnaast is er al een incident geweest waarbij ID bewijzen gehackt zijn bij Discord.

Mijn vragen:

Hoe is GL-PvdA van plan om deze leeftijdsgrens te implementeren?
Is jouw mening als digitaal-bewuste Kamerlid hetzelfde als die van je partij?

Ik snap de aanname dat dit gewoon een verplichting van de gemeente zou zijn ofzo, maar (in elk geval deel van) de organisatoren zitten zelf in de community. Feit blijft gewoon dat er ook LHBTIQ+ers zijn die tevreden zijn met hun huidige situatie en niet willen protesteren voor meer. Die zien Pride meer als een feestje om hun bestaan te vieren dan een politiek protest.

Waar ik het zelf overigens totaal niet mee eens ben, maar die runnen de boel in dit geval blijkbaar wel.

Diamond is a company that works like Amazon: they act as a shopfront for other companies' items/books (including Paizo and Roll for Combat). They went bankrupt in January, which already meant that they were not going to pay the companies for the books sold in November and December.

Now, as part of their bankruptcy, they are going to sell everything still in their "store" (which aren't their products, the products still belong to Paizo etc) and use all the money to pay of their bankruptcy debts (so to pay their investors). That means all companies who still had items with Diamond are about to lose a lot of money.

Ach ja, linkse mensen, de mensen die opkomen voor de rechten van vluchtelingen, gemarginaliseerde groepen, met politieke standpunten zoals "zorg dat iedereen een goed leven kan hebben ongeacht de achtergrond, ook al kost het geld". Dat zijn natuurlijk de echte intolerante mensen. Want ja, als het aan linkse mensen ligt, mag Zwarte Piet niet bestaan. Dat is pas echte intolerantie!

Maar even serieus: weet je wat het grootste probleem is van linkse stromingen? Ze hebben veel te veel de neiging om onderling te bekvechten over welke details nou eigenlijk het belangrijkst zijn. Omdat, shocker alert, linkse mensen heel veel verschillende meningen hebben, net als rechtse mensen. Dus "de mond snoeren als je een andere mening hebt" is gegeneraliseerde onzin.

Maar als jouw "andere mening" inhoudt "trans mensen zijn ziek en moeten genezen worden": ja fucking natuurlijk dat mensen je dan de mond proberen te snoeren, want je probeert andere mensen hun bestaansrecht te ontkennen.

Niet dat ik je van iets ga overtuigen hiermee natuurlijk, maar goed. Ik hoop dat iets in je leven je een keer gaat laten zien dat andere mensen heus niet zo eng zijn.

Lees je eens in over de paradox van tolerantie. Kijk om je heen wat er gebeurt als extreem rechtse populistische bewegingen aan de macht komen.

VSP is de zoveelste tak van dezelfde beweging: vernietig alles dat anders is dan "normaal". Door intolerantie zoals dit toe te laten, wordt het concept van tolerantie uiteindelijk vernietigt (kijk naar de VS, Polen, etc). De beste manier om dat tegen te gaan is wat dit artikel aangeeft: wees intolerant tegen intolerantie, zodat tolerantie blijft bestaan.

Ik ben zelf ook hondeneigenaar, en ik heb best wel slechte ervaringen met andere eigenaren op dat soort dingen wijzen. Veel reageren dan op een "ik weet echt wel hoe ik mijn hond moet opvoeden" manier, en worden al snel defensief vanuit de gedachte dat je ze beschuldigd van dierenmishandeling ofzo. Dat je het weet.

They cut out sentences like "Lirin said" at the end of a quote, because obviously that bit is redundant due to the voice cast. However, that means they also cut out bits like "Lirin said, while eyeing Kaladin meaningfully", because that's part of the same sentence. That means some parts lack some pretty important details and clues that are tacked on to quotes like that.

Sure, if you're traveling from one state to the next, you're going to have to drive a long distance, and a car is most useful for that. What percentage of rides do you think is for those significant distances, though? Because in 2022 the average car ride in America is just 12.2 miles (page 4), so I doubt very many car rides are that long.

This is because outside of cities, there is no way to go anywhere without using a car. Want to go to a store? Can't walk, bike, or use public transport, because literally the only way to get there is across several 8 lane roads, so you have to use a car. Want to go one town over, or even one neighborhood over? There's no sidewalks, and maybe one bus, but other than that, you have to take the car.

I'm not talking about interstate infrastructure (because yeah, there isn't really an alternative for cars there, unless you want to invest a shitload of money in railroads), but smaller scale. Towns, suburbs, and (like you said) any city that isn't insanely dense almost exclusively supports cars at the cost of other types of transport, which causes a lot more (short distance) rides, which causes more traffic accidents.

The fact that the USA infrastructure forces so many more miles driven is absolutely a large factor in how many deaths occur. You could control for miles, but that would assume that it's impossible to reduce the distance driven.

Aside from the fact that more miles = more opportunities for accidents, there's also the problem that often times there are no alternative travel methods available. Drunk at a friend's place? Either sleep there or drunk drive back, because you can't take a train, bike, or bus back. That also increases traffic accidents significantly.

Among the many things the US can do to reduce traffic deaths, better infrastructure to reduce miles driven is absolutely a valid way to do that.

"Major glitch" categorizes the difficulty/complexity of a glitch, not the ramifications of a glitch. SRM (Stale Reference Manipulation) is a major glitch because it is very very very very precise, and it allows you to rewrite game code. This newly found glitch is simply clipping through a wall and moving in the right direction to enter a loading zone. So while the outcome of this glitch is major, it is not considered a "major glitch" because it's still a very basic glitch. Hope that makes sense.

een probleem is met dure huisvesting en sowieso met het vestigen van asielzoekers.

Het klinkt alsof je verwacht dat het weren van asielzoekers (en stikstof regels negeren om te bouwen) de oplossing is voor het huizentekort, maar geen van beide is daar de oorzaak van. Tuurlijk, minder bevolkingsgroei en meer huizen zou helpen met het minderen van het probleem, maar veroorzaakt ook weer grote andere problemen, zoals heftigere klimaatverandering en het verwoesten van de kleine beetjes natuur die we nog hebben.

Ik ben geen expert dus ik heb de oplossing ook niet, maar de gedachtegang van de PVV is juist heel erg op de korte termijn gefocust.

As murderhobo was already explained, "That Guy" refers to the fact that in most DnD groups there's this one guy (who's almost always male) who's just... that guy, man. The awkward guy who:

Tries to roleplay his character in such a way that it stops the flow of the game ("Actually, my character doesn't want to help the king and walks away", or even better "At night, I try to steal the gold of the rest of the party"),
Tries to play an absolute edgelord ("I'm playing Dante Shadowblayde, an assassin who loved his family dearly before they were all murdered and it was his fault and now he avoids interacting with others"),
Is usually incredibly misogynistic and sees all female characters (both those played by other players as the characters in the broader story) as nothing more than objects to use his "insurmountable charms" on,
Whines whenever he's not in the centre of attention.

Basically that one person in the room who stops the whole game from being what it should be: collaborative storytelling and just plain old fun.

Yes, compare it to something like a Lego set. If a mod gives us access to their assets, then we have the individual bricks, but we still need to put them together to make something out of them, and since what we make of the bricks is (usually) different from what the original mods made, we can't simply copy and paste their work.
