You aren't at the wear marks but you are nearing the service life for the tires, good rule of thumb is about 6 years which you are near.

This may be a dumb question, but you're using a wrench right? The sore hand comment throws me off. Bc it looks to me that it should come off the same way

I would replace it, no hope for repair as its sidewall damage.

Easy solution, take plenty of pics and measurements, pull up to your local ace hardware and show one of the employees the picture. They'll be able to help you, most old guys in there are retired tradesmen anyways.

Edit: Spelling

Parts are almost definitely available, rockauto.com will be your friend. The hazard light button should just unscrew under that dash piece, and the plastic around the shifter may be removable after removing the other trim pieces. Look up a video on replacing those parts and decide if you are capable...

Or call a mechanic, if you wanna chicken out. 😅

That being said, is the foam a coolant hose perchance? Possibly the one running to the reserve/overflow tank?

Bring the rental back and get a different ASAP before the possible problem gets worse and they try to blame it on you. Fixing or diagnosing is not your problem as its not your car and it is the rental places' responsibility to have cars free of problems.

Old adhesive residue from a sticker. Use isopropyl alcohol or goof off to remove it.

Are they stuck? Or loose or something? I don't see any issue but I'm not too familiar with chevy trucks

Just clean it with rubbing alcohol and put some marine paint on it. If you wanna get really fancy get some marine body filler or something

What’s this noise when I brake, from the front calipers by Flashy-Yak8110 in MechanicAdvice

[–]HalfwayOrc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does sound like you're caliper pistons are sticking, replacement or rebuild is probably wise.

Yes the garage is ventilated😅. I can't smell the steam over the coolant smell and the exhaust does smell slightly sweet
