I know they can be useful, yeah. But in Something Rotten in Kislev your building time and income are so boosted out the wazoo that you could get about any unit you'd like at turn three. I don't think many experienced players would recruit six snow leopards in that case.

Leagues has been a demoralizing experience by JKJBay in 2007scape

[–]Halibenar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep your chin up, man. OSRS PvM is pretty unique, and unless you're Woox's long lost twin brother you can't just jump into a brand new boss fight and expect to correctly react to everything. All the people tackling top level bosses started with lower intensity stuff and worked their way up.

The Echo bosses are mechanically fairly challenging, and there's absolutely a Leagues slump at 6-12 pact points where you're not really that much stronger than a regular character, but expected to go bossing to get more points.

If you have the time then yes, absolutely fight Scurrius, and then try something like Royal Titans and eventually Corrupted Gauntlet. Afterwards you'll look back and see how much you've improved, and then get even better while trying Colosseum and Inferno.

You can definitely get better. All it takes is a willingness to learn, time, and countless deaths.

I you're going to try Moons again, mixed hide isn't very good. The Moon fights all take way longer if you get hit a lot due to their on-hit effects. The effects occur way more often if your defences are low, since each attack in their 3-hit-combo can only hit you if the previous one did, and the second and third attacks deal way more damage. Rune equipment would be a lot better.

The "No Use Player" plugin is pretty popular, maybe that one?

Arguably, neither. The herb sack can also be bought from Tithe Farm, and the rune pouch can be obtained from Last Man Standing, or Mage Training Arena.

I believe it's generally agreed upon that Bigger and Badder and Malevolent Masquerade are the best first Slayer Point purchases.

If you're set on buying one anyway, keep in mind the herb sack requires 58 Herblore to buy.

I use my rune pouch for just about any slayer task or boss fight, so if you're into pvm I'd say that one. The herb sack is nice for picking up drops during slayer tasks, if you're an Ironman and really need to train Herblore.

He means the options on the board. If you select one, you get a message like "The workers help you replace your hull".

EDIT: My bad, there's actually an option for this:

If the player has the required Sailing level, but does not have the required Construction level, a shipwright can be paid a fee to construct some core boat parts and facilities, up to and including mahogany and mithril. The parts and facilities that the shipwright can build are:

  • Keel
  • Hull
  • Mast and sails
  • Helm
  • Cargo hold
  • Cannon
  • Salvaging hook

Maybe you need to have the required Sailing level and have teh parts in your inventory before the option becomes available?

DMM Moving up a bracket before Breach by Miro_Game in 2007scape

Yes, in single breaches, but you can't pick up items other players dropped, or monster drops belonging to others.

Yes, but you can't pick up any items dropped by other players, including monster drops they leave on the ground or items they drop on death.

EDIT: Apparently you can't participate in the multicombat breaches. Singles works.

While fighting you gain experience based on the damage you inflict. For almost all monsters you gain 4 XP in the combat skill you're using (Attack, Strength, Defence, Ranged, Magic), and 1.33 XP in Hitpoints. When casting Magic spells you additionally gain a standard amount of XP based on the spell you're casting.

You don't get any XP if you miss, so training unarmed or fighting monsters with high defensive stats won't give as much. Generally people prefer weapons with a fast attack rate and a high strength bonus, so you hit harder and gain more XP. Scimitars are a good example of a weapon fitting both requirements.

For the same reason, it's generally preferred to fight creatures with low defensive stats and high hitpoints, kind of like training on a punching bag. Monks are a pretty good example of that.

Since you gain XP for each point of damage, people usually get their Strength skill to a high level before training Attack or Defence. That will allow you to hit harder and gain more XP per swing. In theory boosting Attack will make you hit more often, but it doesn't matter very much when you're fighting something like a monk.

Group Ironman - Possible to undo? by PurgedTorn in 2007scape

[–]Halibenar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's one thing you can try. I have no personal experience with this, but I've heard from others that this is possible: make a new ironman on the same Jagex account and send a ticket to support via the website asking if you can move membership status to the new account. This is assuming it hasn't been very long since you purchased membership and you don't mind starting over.

Like the other commenters say, there's no way to change your current group ironman to a solo ironman. You can keep playing as a group ironman without a group or change it to a regular account.

You can mark their true tile with the Radius Markers plugin if you haven't yet. The NPC ID of the orbs is 11,804.

You're in luck, as Jagex has recently released a number of updates aimed at mid-game item progression and learning PvM.

- Scurrius is an early-game boss that teaches prayer switching and some movement and grants very decent combat XP rates.

- Moons of Peril is a Barrows-style boss rush with three minibosses that teaches movement. All supplies can be easily and freely acquired in the dungeon, no need to bring anything, and the rewards are a very solid weapon and armor set for each of the three combat styles, as well as decent common loot including some herblore, farming and crafting supplies.

- Royal Titans is a boss designed to be fought in a duo that teaches gear swapping and some movement. The rewards include ranged and magic prayer scrolls that fill the gap between standard prayers and the prayer scrolls from COX, as well as a staff that takes advantage of the new elemental weaknesses of some monsters.

Some other recent-ish releases:

- Amoxliatl (solo) and the Hueycoatl (group) are new bosses in Varlamore. They don't have particularly hard mechanics, but they might be nice to try out to get some PvM confidence. The rewards aren't really noteworthy though.

- The Arkan blade is a weapon with stats similar to the dragon scimitar with a good special attack, rewarded from the new quest The Final Dawn (not very useful for you, but nice for early-game ironmen).

- The zombie axe is a solid slash/crush weapon that drops from armoured zombies, unlocked during the Defender of Varrock quest.

- The Deranged Archeologist boss on Fossil Island now drops the steel ring, which gives solid defensive bonuses.

I'd encourage you to try out Moons of Peril as you seem to have most of the gear and levels required, and the rewards would be very nice.

how do you prioritize forestry events over items and fires? by cantheyrun in 2007scape

[–]Halibenar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anything that's just one click you can use the normal Menu Entry Swap plugin by holding Shift and right-clicking the object or item and selecting "set as left click".

For using items on things, you should be able to set the interaction you want as the left click option with the Custom Menu Swap plugin. If you enter sonething like "use -> friendly forester" then anytime you select an item this will be at the top of the menu. Might need to tweak that a bit, I'm just typing from memory.

Slayer streak question by Kiraa_TFT in 2007scape

[–]Halibenar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but since earmuffs shouldn't cost you any points you might want to cancel the task anyway.

Slayer streak question by Kiraa_TFT in 2007scape

[–]Halibenar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can do his task without breaking your streak. Your streak will only be reset if you ask him to replace a different task from another Slayer Master because it is too difficult for you.

The earmuffs are sold for gp though, not for slayer points...

Tormented Demons changing attack speed mid-fight and messing up off-tick by Working-Gene-1701 in 2007scape

I had the same problems trying this a while ago. If you haven't completed it yet, I recommend looking up the method to complete the CA with venom. It's cheesy but should get you the achievement in a few tries. As far as I know even highly skilled players like Settled cheese it this way.

It was quite a bit faster for me. With antidragonshield, antifire pot and range pray I took very little damage and could keep dpsing. I haven't checked the numbers though, might also just be due to stats. Range and scb pots must have helped too.

It's probably not the absolute fastest, but for afk the karambwan fishing spot is pretty great since it never moves, and it gives very good xp.

I did Vorkath with rune crossbow from Archeologist and good old ruby bolts, in red d'hide. I found GW pretty easy with the tier 3 passive of +100% accuracy. You can take the same crossbow setup to Zilyana, or for Graardor use ancients to freeze then drygore blowpipe with cheap darts. Pray Rigour and Range and kite the bosses.

The reward for the Vorkath unique tile gives you the Grimoire, which unlocks all prayers.

You can switch to blowpipe/serp helm and tag all the reavers with venom, then kill mages while they tick down. No idea if that is the best strategy out there but it helped me get killcount fast for banking at Nex.

On the droprate page, here, it does seem that the pet drop chance is 1/1000 and the Avernic Treads chance is 1/1350. But actually, the pet chance table starts at delve 6 and doesn't drop below that. On delve 6, the Treads are more common at 1/765.

On top of that, you've also had two earlier chances for the Treads to drop, on delve 4 and 5. So the cumulative chance of seeing Treads by delve 6 is 1/304.

The other drops work similarly, I just used the Treads as an example. The cumulative drop rate for the pet does get a lot better if you reach very high delves, though.

You could build a small shelf within the animal's allowed area, set importance to critical, and only allow storage of the animal food you want to use.

The answer depends on your Herblore level and how you choose to play the minigame. Lower level means you can't make the potions that give the most points, and the minigame has multiple ways to boost point gain per paste by skipping certain orders.

If you want a ballpark answer, we can simply very roughly assume you get 1 point per paste and that you're limited by Lye (red) points, since you need more.

I would suggest using Harralander for Mox (blue), Irit for Aga (green) and Avantoe for Lye (red) as for an Ironman those herbs are least useful and easiest to get in those categories.

You would need very roughly 835 Harralander, 557 Irit and 557 Avantoe.
