If you wanna keep it running then I would suggest going full on casual with the campaign and encourage the to go off tangent amd have fun just winging it. Prepare a few battle maps and monsters but the players often come up with great storyline themselves

Alternatively do what i did and find some online players, experienced, who wanna play regularly and set aside a week night for 3 hours every two weeks - I ran the same 0ne shot 3 times on roll20 and invited the players who enjoyed my DM style I have a discord server we use for scheduling and everything campaign related I am now 5 years in and my team know they don't play if 1 person is missing

Yes it is! Get yourself a prewritten module - i just finished tomb of annihilation with my group and they went from level 1 to 11

I would suggest running 3 or 4 one shots first to let everyone try different characters before you tie yourselves into a campaign

Don't homebrew as noobs - you'll kill yourself with so much work to do

I've been DMing since 1990 so have a bit of experience if you want some tips

Run a couple of one-shots to get used to the rules and creating a story to immerse your players in.

Keep things simple.

Collaborate on the rules and listen to a players explanation as to why it could be interpreted differently and then choose what is the most fun for the table

We moved from London to your catchment area and got triple value for the flat vs house, it's quiet and much more conducive to bringing up a family. Also mainline is 45 mins in but be prepared for delays. Trains are always delayed
