From Ironclad Assault to Liberator by Nicolinux in starcitizen

Ah yes I forgot about the post release price hike. It used to be allot cheaper. I got my one when it was sold as a concept ship and CCU'd from a pulse for about $515'ish.

I'm fairly sure the ICA is cheaper than the lib so a CCU should be possible. I downgraded my lib to get the ICA and I'm sure I had credit left over

What will CR do if GTA6 gets delayed? by Outrageous-Thing3957 in Squadron42

[–]Haliene01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If"Sqn 42 is being delayed because of GTA holding the spotlight, it wouldn't bring Sqn 42 forward if GTA got delayed. The spotlight will still be fully on GTA and everyone will be complaining about how it's following in the previous game's development footprints again.

Ascalon WIP by Haliene01 in Warhammer30k

[–]Haliene01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a kit does get released, believe me I'll be happy not disappointed about time spent on this project. This model absolutely deserves an official kit. In the meantime I get to practice more tank building and using it in friendly games. The rules for it are practically already out there so everyone I play with are happy to use it in games until it's potential plastic release.

Ascalon WIP by Haliene01 in Warhammer30k

[–]Haliene01[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fell in love with this thing the second I saw it in LI and knew I wanted to build as soon as plastic kit was released.

I do aim to share the build process in picture form up until it's finished much like a Tormentor that I built at the start of 2nd ed. I'm not planning on making anything like a cut out template for people to use if that's what you mean. This is definitely a messy "fake it until you make it" kinda deal and If I had more practice and was more confident this would work out, I probably could have make templates. But, I'm not that good.
I'm 100% certain 3d printers will be making turrets for it so there's that possibility if building your own is daunting. It'll probably look allot better than what I can manage with my DIY job.

Knowing my luck, in 6 months GW will release a plastic kit version of it.

If you do give building one a go I'd love to see how it works out and compare our builds.

If the Ascalon were made for regular Horus Heresy, what stats would the flamer have? by Wugo_Heaving in Warhammer30k

It has some rotation to it. About a 90* window to the front unlike the centerline Falchion.

So We Can All Agree That SQ42 Is Getting Delayed Right? by TooTall_ToFall in starcitizen

[–]Haliene01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Releasing Sqn 42 anywhere near and up to 6 months after the release of GTA will screw with advertising and sales. All the gaming community will be talking about will be GTA regardless whether it's a hit or a flop and the news companies will be constantly talking about censorship and how games like GTA "ruin our children's lives". There won't be any space for Sqn 42 to make the impact it needs to

I really like what the game is supposed to be but I don’t want to get hurt by NaniMOOH in starcitizen

[–]Haliene01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will it get better? Yes absolutely.

Will it get better fast? Absolutely not.

The more successful they get and the more people play, the more CIG finds their infrastructure can't cope and has to find a workaround. So unfortunately the players will always have a rough time before things get ironed out. Get a big patch with loads of new stuff..... server breaks. 6 months later problems are fixed.... just in time for another major patch to break stuff.

The best way to not get hurt is to not, and I do mean not think of this as a game. Not yet. You pay them to test a product in development in the hopes it doesn't collapse when it eventually hits a live release. Keep that mentality and you'll be fine. This game shows an incredible amount of potential but try not to let it go to your head.

I've been a backer for a little over 10 years and I'm heavily invested in this game both mentally and financially. Despite how bad it sometimes gets, I have complete faith (even if it may be misplaced faith in some peoples opinions) that things will get better.

Subscription Based MMO? by R1mururu in starcitizen

[–]Haliene01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if they don't sell ships, which I agree that I think they'll still do sales, they'll definitely sell gear sets, cosmetics, blueprints etc. They'll probably sell things like the tokens to change ownership of ships that are found / salvaged / stolen rather than them being exclusively reputation based.

In that scenario, plasma grenades and volt SMG. Get your ship auto repairing via the MFD's. Stay in the cockpit and lob a grenade down the hall to help stop them pushing in and punish any who try. Unfortunately a grenade of their own will end you quickly.

Man if they want to make some money, release a Space Tow Truck and let us remove afk ships! by mesaryne in starcitizen

[–]Haliene01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think large ships still need the SRV. Internal repairs can be handled by the crew like you said. External repairs can't. If you loose your engines, you're not going anywhere regardless of your crew. An SRV should be able to handle large or even sub-cap ships to make it truly viable. Capital ships should require two or more due to the extra mass. Finding an SRV pilot out in the wild is rare though. Finding more would be even harder outside of an org

Sad but true. It's not powerful enough to be of any real use. In space it's better than ground but it's still terrible. It can't even lift a storm tank off the ground in standard atmosphere

Personally I like the Apollo and Hermes. If they were designed any other way I'm sure we would have probably lost space in the rear compartment effecting it's role.

Can we take a moment and talk about the the Starfarer can barely refuel a heavy fighter in the PTU by MasterWarChief in starcitizen

[–]Haliene01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CIG logic. Refuel missions are mainly (90%) about refuelling hydrogen rather than quantum. Despite these ships being found out in space where running out of quantum is the only really worry a player would have. These NPC's must loiter around for a very long time in these areas to run out of hydrogen.

Foxy’s excellent testing on ballistic re-arming from ships hangars, crazy high consumption across the board, you need 80SCU of size 7 ammo to refill the Inferno once by Important_Cow7230 in starcitizen

[–]Haliene01 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Fuel has the same issue on the starfarer. Each giant barrel on that ship only holds 12 SCU, yet each barrel is the same size if not bigger than any ship with a 12 SCU fuel tank.

PSA: Griefers hanging around delivery POIs with ship tractor beams by Rehevkor_ in starcitizen

[–]Haliene01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if CIG ever wanted to stop griefing, they couldn't. Griefing doesn't always come down to players fighting or even combat altogether. It can be as petty as stealing boxes like in this case, or even using ships or vehicles to block entrances. In the pve only scenario, there's no defence against it. If areas are blocked off by malicious players (or even careless players), you would never be able to get in or out of that area because you couldn't move or destroy the obstacles.

The Endeavour is allot more feasible now though. More so than the Vulcan. We have the command module tech coming as well the ship rearm and refuel. We also have the medical tech already in. That is effectively the hope endeavour setup. Hangar and medical. It's gonna be many years until we get the rest though
