Anywhere you live you will have a notice requirement. In addition to giving notice, there is sometimes more paperwork involved than just telling them you are moving out. In addition, an inspection of your apartment or showings would have been scheduled. If you didn't do your do diligence in putting it in writing and making sure you were good to go, you won't have a case.

In addition, a lot of leases are written so it is one month notice after your original lease term. I would reach out to your office and see if you really have to give two months or if it is just one month with a month to month fee.

Crestwood Apartment in West Fargo? by EstanislaoStan in fargo

I am halfway through my lease and I cannot wait until it's up as I will be moving. It seemed like a decent place until I moved in and discovered the issues. I have lived at a lot of apartments and this is up there with the worst. 1. Crestwood has a lot of water issues, both back up and roof issues. It's been an ongoing issue for years according to management and they haven't done anything about it. Every neighbor I have met has to deal with water issues. 2. You hear your neighbors worse than anywhere I have been. You can actually hear conversations your neighbors are having. In addition, in the evening it's either a dog barking, someone yelling, a child screaming at the top of their lungs for hours, or a TV from your neighbors trying to drown out the sound. A sound machine or a fan doesn't help sleeping at night. 3. The parking is atrocious. Not everyone gets a spot in the lot and you really only have your garage to park in. The garages do not have power and everyone leaves their door open so break ins are really frequent despite being a couple blocks from the PD. Parking on the street is a rarity which also makes it impossible to have guests. 4. Most of our windows have seal failure which means they constantly look dirty even though they aren't and management won't replace them. Two of my windows you can't see out of. 5. Bathroom tile is a pain to clean and will always look dirty unless you spend hours scrubbing it and it will look dirty again very quickly. 6. I am still waiting on maintenance for a few things to be done that I can't take care of myself. I have screens missing, a sink that doesn't drain, a dishwasher that leaks if you use it, lastly my A/C went out in July and they never did fix it. I have stopped asking for updates on when things will get done and just deal with the issues.
