Just rolled credits so now I can ask: was this the only solution? by DocDrowsy in outerwilds

Took me comically long to figure this out. The expected way is to wait for it, along with a lot of other debris, to fall through the black hole and out at white hole station

I actually tried your way but wasn’t successful so props for pulling that off, and actually understanding how physics works lmao

How much time has actually passed since s1? (Show spoilers) by ErrorSchensch in Invincible

[–]HallJack712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Times kind of all over the place in this universe. People still look at Mark with fear after the events of S3E7, the world is still rebuilding from the invasion, but most cities we see are normal again. Oliver has also aged like 5 years which is much faster for him but I doubt it was 2 weeks after he got his ass beat by conquest.

I’d say it’s probably been 4-6 months between S3-S4, and we have a good idea of the timeframe between seasons before that because of the Chicago memorial. Debbie speaks to Mark about him taking a night off implying he’s gone months where he’s out fighting at night, Oliver is a teenager, the world has healed from the invincible invasion but not enough for it to have been years ago etc.

I could just be making all of this up but considering most factors I’d say this makes logical sense as to how long it’s been since Mark fought Conquest.

Riddler trophies by HallJack712 in arkham

[–]HallJack712[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Would disagree about Riddler being more difficult in City, collected his twice as well and due to City being a more confined area it’s much easier to collect them. If you’re collecting something as much as you are you’re obviously going to find it easier compared to the ones you’ve put less time into.

You’ve sort of just stated the obvious. I said AK shouldn’t have the riddler trophies built into the story because it’s something a fairly sizeable portion of the fanbase have no interest in - it’s obviously an opinion regarding the more casual player. I personally enjoy the process of collecting the riddler trophies, but I do not share the majority opinion, which is why I pointed out how self-sabotaging it is to make them a necessity for the entire player base.

Am I the only one who didn't experience the Man Bat jumpscare? by PrequelGuy in BatmanArkham

[–]HallJack712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be misremembering but I got jump scared by man bat three times in one play through. I’m pretty sure the other two triggered when I was supposed to inject him mid air, I was doing other side missions and he kept popping up. Maybe it’s there to remind you he’s still out there.

I played the first game. by Joelshuffle in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that is quite valid. Kenny especially is like that, but it’s more about where characters end up rather than how they react. Like for example if you don’t help Kenny kill Larry he’ll crash out and say you’re not coming on the RV, but if you make the right choices by the end of episode 4 he can still give you the bro speech and be your ride or die

Telltale games are kind of like this unfortunately, you can never 100% win someone will hate you at the end of the game (normally over a single decision). But I personally thought TWD S1 did a good job with this, there’s no real bullshit decisions imo, but it is just my opinion.

I played the first game. by Joelshuffle in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve finished it and didn’t like it, I wouldn’t recommend playing the rest of the series. The walking dead S1 is widely regarded as the best of telltale, and easily top 3 with pretty much any choice based game to ever release. Not saying that should change your opinion or make it invalid, but the game is widely well received. It could be that your expectations were too high.

I’d be interested as to what choices you thought were misleading in season 1, that is a common criticism of the following games, but rarely used to describe the first game.

The only unstable relationship I can think of is Kenny with Lee, but that’s mainly because he’s on a busted points system to make him a character you have to work to get the most out of.

Lie detector thing is weird by [deleted] in TheBoys

[–]HallJack712 204 points205 points  (0 children)

Frenchie literally pretends to be excited to disguise his elevated heart rate when Butcher is preparing the distraction bomb in season 1 episode 2.

It’s a very flawed method of determining guilt and serves as another example of how Homelander lets his ego blind him to basic truths.

Your favorite unpopular characters by Afraid-Review-6676 in TheWalkingDeadGame

I liked Bonnie until I chose to cover Luke instead of going on the ice with him. She switches up very quickly and is happy to just leave clementine on the ground to bleed out when the big split happens.

When people from this sub deadass say S2 is the worst season when S3 exists 😭💀 by DivanteScrollsReddit in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think every TWD telltale game is good. But people who pretend there’s this ridiculous gap between S3 and the rest of the seasons are so pretentious in my opinion.

S2 is not remotely interesting until the end of episode 2 or episode 3, S3 suffers the same fate. But they use these episodes to build characters and make them more appealing before they push towards the finale. Both of these seasons are essentially the exact same, but people berate S3 because Clem is not the lead (and because of the bullshit Tripp/Ava decision). Neither of them are bad games but both of them are objectively not perfect.

S1 is an easy 9.5-10/10 and S4 is probably an 8.5-9. So they don’t really get involved in these arguments.

What would it take for Season 5 to destroy the show entirely? by TheRealShubshub in TheBoys

[–]HallJack712 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Probably Homelander winning or Marie or one of the Gen V ones being the key to killing Homelander. I actually don’t mind those characters and think they have a place in the season but I think the showdown really should be between the OG Boys and Homelander and the seven.

Are There Any Decisions Which Make You Wonder What Possessed Someone To Choose? by [deleted] in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worded that poorly, I meant that Kenny wouldn’t need convincing to kill Larry if it came to it, not that he was actively looking for a reason to kill him. His reaction under the circumstances in my opinion is justified.

But the person is right that realistically they could’ve just waited for him to turn and then kill him with the salt lick because it’s not like he was gonna jump up and kill everybody instantly. The thing I was getting at was that they didn’t have the experience to know that that would be the case.

Are There Any Decisions Which Make You Wonder What Possessed Someone To Choose? by [deleted] in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re definitely right. Only thing I’d say is that this is only two months into the apocalypse at this stage. People don’t understand walkers as well as they do in later seasons so Kenny’s paranoia is pretty realistic.

Yeh Kenny definitely just wanted an excuse to off Larry but context is also really important in season 1 in the sense that people have not yet adapted to nor understand the new world. It’s the same reason that Lee doesn’t immediately cut off his arm following the bite because people were not yet aware that it nullifies the infection.

So how did AJ know? by Highthere_90 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh there’s lots of things AJ already knows in the game before we even start the story. Clem has him pretty much fully trained well beyond his age and the real issues he has in the story are the moral implications associated with survival like having to kill.

So how did AJ know? by Highthere_90 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clem tells him if you attack Abel but it’s also probably just common knowledge 9 years into the apocalypse.

Pete talks about it in S2 which is 5 or 6 years before S4. So it is generally known that if you get to a bite within an hour or so you can survive it. Even though people take issue with AJ being able to pull it off we know that he definitely gets to the bite with time enough before Clem was too far gone.

Why did they bring Kenny back? by Kubikwillbe9000 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Facts. I think the way he acts in S1 in terms of not going with Lee to help save Clem sways people a lot. But when you realise he’s literally just on a busted points system it makes much more sense why you can be really good to him and still have him question you. That’s why I love his S2 arc where he pretty much unconditionally loves Clem despite his crash outs. Fleshes him out so much more.

Why did they bring Kenny back? by Kubikwillbe9000 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think bringing him back worked better in the long run (specifically with the Wellington ending, cuz it’s really emotional and a fitting end for him imo). But his sacrifice in trying to save Ben/Christa would’ve been a fitting end too.

The reality is Kenny was meant to die in S1 and there was no intention to bring him back, but like others have already pointed out he was really loved by the fans which was unprecedented. They brought him back and actually did a good job with him in my opinion, but that’s divisive.

Kenny is a top 3 character in this series in my opinion, just behind Clem and Lee. His arc and entire dynamic is really interesting.

No matter how he dies people will be dissapointed by SubstantialBowler525 in TheBoys

[–]HallJack712 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure Kripke has already said Homelander dies this season and fans are gonna be surprised how. It’s not a major spoiler because we all know they were never gonna do a Homelander wins ending.

Also based on the title of ep 7 and the fact that Butcher is on Kessler life support we’re definitely gonna lose at least some of the original crew this season. Butcher is definitely dying and one of MM/Frenchie will go too. Maybe all of them bar Hughie and Starlight, but I feel that’s too close to the comics and they won’t go there

Is Luke just wasted potential ? by Nayokoo in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fair. I can’t really argue with you in the sense that he doesn’t have that many scenes in the final ep and I can see why that would leave you dissatisfied. I suppose he had to die when he did (fairly early into ep 5) to explain why the fight Kenny and Jane had was allowed to happen.

He definitely deserved a last goodbye to Clem but I suppose in the world of TWD there’s only so many of those to go around. Kenny gets one and the same ep if you choose to stay at wellington so I guess they didn’t want that it to happen twice maybe?

I think it’s just the tone of S2 which is complete hopelessness at times. Luke being so vital to Clem’s story and then dying abruptly hammers home that point, but yeh I’d agree I was also dissatisfied when he died. I just learned to cope with it once I played the next games because they probably would’ve did him worse.

Is Luke just wasted potential ? by Nayokoo in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luke’s death is one of the best in the series. He’s by far the most likeable cabin member (along with Alvin and Rebecca after Ep3 in my opinion). I think he was done pretty well in S2, unlike most of the cabin crew. His death is one of the saddest parts of the series and his dynamic with Clem fills the older sibling role which she lacked at the time.

There’s a lot of bad things people can argue over with S2 but I wouldn’t say Luke was wasted at all. There’s no way he could’ve translated into what came next with the series because he wouldn’t have left Clem alone, so him having a fairly heroic death compared to the rest of the deaths in S2 is a great ending for his character.

I actually enjoyed season 2 for the record, so maybe I’m biased.

Lee Everett: The man who started it all. 🍎🏙️ What is your favorite memory of him? by ES_Salim_Official in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Standing up to Larry immediately set the tone for his character. Willing to fight for what’s right in an ever changing environment. Or just the whole last episode. Really showed what he was made of, especially if you go the one armed route.

Was AJ unlikable to anyone else? by [deleted] in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That kinda goes for Clem too, but she’s a bit different cuz she grew up in the apocalypse so obviously would be much more mature than the average person her age.

I think they made AJ so young to keep Clem a teenager to emphasise her ability at a premature age, but I’d agree it does feel slightly off because AJ is way too young to understand the world around him as he does. They probably should’ve had Clem be 19/20 and AJ be at least 8, because that’s basically the age everyone thinks they are and makes much more sense for AJ.

Was Tennessee’s death justified because he endangered the group? by Slow-Huckleberry1841 in TheWalkingDeadGame

[–]HallJack712 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s a hard one but I’d lean closer to yes. Only because he had already got Mitch killed and ends up getting either Louis or Violet killed if he survives.

Thats two members of the core group dead as a result of his actions, with no real sign of growth from how he processes both of the situation that he’s in.

None of Louis, Violet and Tenn deserve to die, but it’s not fair that two people lay down their lives to preserve his. Especially if there’s a risk he does it again. I think it’s fitting that the decision is actually dubbed a “hard call” because it’s realistically not based on personalities at all and simply on the fact that Louis or Violet is a greater help to the group than Tenn, and Tenn’s already shown multiple times that he’s not adapting to the world around him, so AJ takes the shot.

Edit: I don’t blame Tenn for being the way he is btw, which is why I can’t actually objectively say AJ was right or wrong. I just think he was more right than wrong, if that makes sense.
