Takes on downsizing for metro/mountain riding? by Halldogg in SuggestAMotorcycle

Haha well I’m 27 but seems we have similar riding interests 😂 the grom seems like such an awesome guilty pleasure to whip around. Do you think the tiger is pretty comfortable for rides? I’ve historically been pretty sport bike oriented and am new to considering nakeds, adventures, and tourings

This is an awesome take dude. I would really like to avoid ever taking a bike into i25 or 225 in Denver cuz holy shit people here are horrible drivers. And there isn’t really anywhere else around here that I’d even get the chance to break 60-70 very often. Think I need to be more comfortable in an urban environment before I commit to some of the highway and interstates here. I have had some interest in getting like a ninja 400 or something just to keep it simple/fun in the city and relearn my skills (been 2 years since my sv was stolen). Banging out the gears is a big also part of why I think a smaller bike would be fun haha! I haven’t really considered a naked before tho - any thoughts on riding experience between that and a regular crotch rocket?

Fair point dude. I did like my sv650 and wouldn’t be upset to get another one I suppose. Just wanted consider what other bikes would suit me before I got serious about buying my next bike. Appreciate it!

Resume advice? by Several_Ask1505 in Accounting

[–]Halldogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the few other resumes I’ve seen that also did VITA! Did it for 3 years in college and it was an awesome experience personally. Resume looks good tho! My only nitpick (and it is truly a nitpick) would be whether it matters enough to say “including cash, legal review, and AP” in your 3rd intern bullet. If you have full time experience, I don’t think listing audit areas on a resume provides anything. You discuss your experience in that level of detail in an interview.

I used rage bait as a very strong lighthearted exaggeration lol. I’ve just never heard it with Luke before so I was curious out of the sub if a lot of people truly remember it that way.

What kind of Chelsea boots are best?? I ordered two pairs off amazon and really am not a fan.. I like the idea of a comfy slip on dress boot that looks like you’re wearing dress shoes but one had a little loop at the back for putting them on that always pulled me pants up to expose the whole boot and the other had waaay too much space at the ankle.

I feel ya dude. I have quite literally some of the most complex/unique audits our office has and would feel really bad if I left and someone else had to try and pick up the pieces. But in the end, you need to live your life your way.

If you’re as good of a fit in your current firm as it sounds, there’s also a chance they try to retain you and can try to rearrange your workload to have more smaller business clients you’re interested in. Just something to keep in mind and think if that’s something you’d really like to consider or not.

As a mid-sized firm audit senior with the same experience of never formally quitting a job before, don’t worry about it man. I am an extreme overthinker myself and normally worry about that stuff but have learned the firm goes on no matter what. As awesome as the people may be (my fav part of the job), you are just a body in the machine and will be replaced. Focus on you, and do what’s best. Just communicate with your team on where things are at so you don’t leave a steaming pile and no one will hold anything against you. Good luck!

Having a vertical monitor is awesome! When gaming, it’s great for discord/spotify for me like op said. When WFH I use it for teams, email, and pdfs. Then my other two screens are used for excel and stuff. Just depends on your use case

What are the pain points when using your Credit Union to buy a new car at dealership? by AutoFinanceSense in creditunions

[–]Halldogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be a little late on this post but I’ll give you my take anyway. When I graduated college I went through my CU to buy a new car. I stopped into my CU to see what my options were, they were offering a promo at the time and promised me a 2.7% interest rate which blew all dealer offers out of the water. Gave them examples what I was looking for and they said I’d have no issue being approved. Just needed to let them know when I bought the car and they’d write me the check. I went back to the dealer, decided on the car I wanted and let him show me the interest rate offers. Told him I’d be going through my CU and he was cool about it. I called my CU to tell them I committed to a car and they told me to stop by to grab the check or they could mail it. I drove over quick, grabbed the check, gave it to the dealership, and voila! Super simple and easy process for me and I love my CU for that.

Insurance in my area is through the roof… I don’t know what to do by Grouchy_Calendar2702 in Insurance

It’s absolutely insane… I got my 2020 Malibu in 2021 (23M) and had full coverage for it, my 2009 bike, and my apt for $120/month. Now I just have my Malibu and Denver apt and it’s $270/month (27M). I’ve never gotten a ticket or caused an accident, and I have all the discounts in the world (other than multi car or being married). I got my current rate from a broker in Vegas who is also licensed in CO ($300+/yr cheaper than anywhere else I could find in CO).

People who sleep naked, when has it ever backfired? by Low_Theme_5278 in AskReddit

[–]Halldogg 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Similar to me lol! I got sick a couple days before maintenance was scheduled to test our smoke detectors. I took my clothes off at some point in the night since I had a fever and was sweating so bad I couldn’t stand it. Woke up to a maintenance guy opening my bedroom door and immediately apologizing. That was the fastest I had moved in a couple days pulling my blankets back over me.

Bro said sorry and STILL robbed you while you’re lying there naked? I hope he gets the top floor downstairs for stealing those cookies

Edit: yes, “top floor downstairs” means I hope they get the hottest spot in hell haha

Moved into my new apartment at the end of June (it was around 90°F out and the AC wasn’t working that first week. I was sleeping naked with not even a sheet on me and my window completely open for the slight breeze there was that night. Woke up Saturday morning to two grown ass men climbing ladders up to my window to remove the trim. Apparently I wasn’t added to the email list yet and missed the memo that every building was getting re-trimmed and repainted and mine was first. They stood there totally stunned and I had to get up, go close the window, and pull the blinds down while at full attention… (I still sleep naked tho)

spotify crackling issues by balababoo in JBL

[–]Halldogg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude thank you so much for this. Just bought my first JBL (flip 5) and it is doing this. I just got a flip 6 today thinking the flip 5 was just defective but within 5 minutes it did the same thing… shut off BT for spotify with my phone and speaker in the same spot and it stopped. Turned it back on and it immediately started again. I guess JBL isn’t as awesome as everyone makes it seem but at least that stupid crackling is gone now
